Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

My latest, I think I have finally found the conky to stick with, though it took me weeks to write. The wallpaper is made by me, as well as the GTK theme, Emerald theme, AWN, (though its nothing more than a taskbar with no background), and the icons are Hydroxygen. Click on images to see them in full...

This is the third post you made regarding the same thing, please do not post the same issue multiple times as it just waste space and bandwidth of the forums. Many people have tried to help you, and you have gotten many replies.

I actually use conky, but that's more for people who know how to write scripts, for a beginner, screenlets is the best one to use.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Here's mine, Moomex theme, which for some reason won't work on certain windows like MintUpdate and Synaptic (only crappy Raleigh theme or whatever it is...) :/ I forgot to post this, the reason that the root programs, (ie synaptic, mintupdate, etc) wont use the theme is that you probably have the t...

Re: FGLRX broke Gloria :(

What ATI card do you have? the older ati cardsa re not supported with the new drivers, and the older drivers are not supported in the new xorg, so its kind of a catch 22.

Re: In the future...

In the future NO Linux Mint 8 32 bit please, old computers can use Linux Mint 7 32 bit That will never happen, EVER! There are too many people that use 32bit still, including some us devs, and the community editions are 32bit, so there will never be a complete drop of Mint 32bit, it will be the mai...

Re: Compiling and Build Essentials Not Enough

Another thing you should check is that you have the -dev versions of things, sometimes the configure script will say that it needs something that you have installed, but you do not have the -dev of that file installed, and I have had that issue in the past, and installing the -dev file allowed me to...

LXDE CE Update

I just wanted to give everyone an update on what is going on with the LXDE CE. I have found the base that I am going to use, and have been working with it, but I have to redo the menu setup, which requires rewriting a lot of the code/config files, so that the entries are in the correct places, and i...

Re: keep your wallpapers open source!

I have to agree about artwork not being GPL, that is not what the GPL license was meant for, CCL is more appropriate, that being said, there is an initiative for getting the older Wallpaper Of The Month source files, (a competition we used to do, but my health and other factors prevented me from con...
