Re: Afert Deleting Files, No Free Space Is Created / Gained

Got it fixed. Woo-hoo!!! Not exactly sure the order of how it went, but through a combination of the following, a reboot, and probably some dumb luck... I've recovered about 500gb of space on my 2TB hard drive and can now function normally, as designed. Wow. Heckuva lesson to learn and this will sti...

No kidding! That's why I'm here. Even after deleting many GB of stuff, it still said that.
Have checked and used the other tools to see what is where.

Hello, Not sure what forum to put this in, so here I am. System is Mint 17.1 Cinnamon 64-bit with 12gb RAM, 2TB primary drive (sda) and 750GB second drive (sdb). SDA is partitioned into swap, programs, and home (3 partitions.) Made a terrible mistake with a "dd" command and now am paying a large pri...

SOLVED: How to restore file mgr Nemo Sidebar Places Mint 17

Re: XFCE 17: Desktop - application icons, tabs, etc. don't s

Apparently the half-height AGP card in this machine needs the nvidia-96 driver, which is no longer supported in Mint 17. It's an nVidia P-117 / MX-440 card. I know this card is old, low-performance, etc... but it physically works except for no software support. I'd like to know how it going to a lan...

XFCE 17: Desktop - application icons, tabs, etc. don't show

Hello, Upgraded a desktop to Mint 17 XFCE and the desktop icons, panel icons, Firefox tabs, Thunar icons do not show. If I roll my cursor over them, they show up temporarily, but then go back to a dull grey or not there at all. After installation, I checked " Driver Manager " thinking maybe it was m...

Problem still exists with Qiana Mint 17.
Unmet dependencies re: Unity.

This is an annoying problem since Picasa also is bug ridden.

VERY difficult to promote Linux when there isn't a decent, basic photo management program.

Re: How to Fine Tune Dual-boot grub menu in Mint 17?

Item #1 - I have no idea why the bios hangs. Drive jumpers were not set correctly. After I fixed that, the BIOS screen flashes by as quickly as ever. Solved. Item #2 - If you are talking about the amount of time before the default OS is selected, that setting is controlled by the file /etc/default/...

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" Cinnamon RC is out!

The two issues I have with Firefox 29 are: Forecastfox does not work and has not been updated. That add-on was one of the best things I liked about FF. A particular theme cause FF29 to crash incessantly. Took a while to figure out it was the theme. Have never had either of those issues before and ha...
