Re: Mint 15 boot up troubles

Hello again, strange, because ubuntu 13.04 seems work for you (?). So, maybe the problem is not caused by your video card but rather by a faulty .iso and/or faulty burn? Maybe it's worth to download again from a different mirror and burn the file again (slow burn 2x)? Good luck! You may be right. I...

Re: Mint 15 boot up troubles

I can't boot into Mint 15 at all. I get a black screen of letters and numbers... This is a bad RC release for this video card, maybe the final version will update the kernel. I've used Mint for five years and never had this problem. Hope the final will fix the problem of this RC version. Otherwise I...

Mint 15 boot up troubles

I'm having trouble with inconsistent boot up in Mint 15 RC. I have an nvidia Geforce 8400 video, Athlon 4600+ 3GB RAM. It will sometimes boot to the Mint logo and just hang without getting to the log in screen, then after force reboot it may go to screen with all text that ends in fffffffffffffff an...

Mint 15 RC upgrade to final version

I'm installing Mint 15 RC. By running apt-get update and upgrade daily until the final version is released, I'll have the final version of Mint 15 like I did with Ubuntu 13.04 ?

How to install flash plugin in Mint Debian 201303 [solved]

I've just installed Mint Debian. Have always used regular Mint. I thought Flash would be installed. It isn't. How do I install Flash plugin? I have downloaded and extracted it from Adobe but I forgot the command to install it. ...I just noticed that flash is working in Firefox, but not Chromium. How...

Updating linux generic, headers, image

I'm running Mint 13 w/cinnamon 64bit.

I see in Synaptic; Linux headers, generic, and image upgrade from 3.2.0.35 to 3.2.0.39 . Do they hold these back because something may break? Or is it OK to upgrade them?

Does it make any difference?

Dr.Mangosteen wrote:The iso doens't matter. Just install to a disc (dvd) if you can. The regular iso from the official mint website will work just fine so choose your desktop and make sure you get 32 bit (unless you can confirm that your macbook will support 64 bit like mine).
Thank you.

Adding password for wifi on HP4795

How do I type in my wifi password to set up wifi printing on my HP C4795 printer? I turned on the wifi and it printed up a sheet with my network listed, but I don't see where to login with my password to connect. How is this done?

Re: Lenovo G580 and wifi

I decided to delete Win 8 and install Mint 14 on my new Lenovo G580. The wifi was picked up in the live session and during the install and after the reboot the wifi connection stayed on. It runs great. No problems at all and didn't have to install any other drivers. So far so good.

Re: Lenovo G580 and wifi

I haven't had trouble with the touch pad. No more than any other laptop. If you type a lot, turn off the pad so your thumbs don't get in the way. Did you watch the video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_Yd2jK-7Jg Don't think that will work? Your instructions are very extensive. I may just install M...

Re: Lenovo G580 and wifi

I bought it yesterday and ran the live DVD Mint 14 and it found my wifi connection and I was able to log in the use wifi via the live DVD. Does that mean that once installed I should still see the wifi connections? Also: here's a video showing how to dual boot with Win 8. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

I'm thinking of buying a Lenovo laptop G580. does it have issues with wifi?

Are there other recommendations for an inexpensive laptop to run Mint 14 on?

Thanks.
