Re: When opening dolphin home folder, no files...

happen to me just now after updating kde to 4.6.1.. workaround for it (at least for me), open dolphin, on menubar, go to configure dolphin, on startup section, change location to other than your home folder, apply and exit. it fixed the issue for me.

Re: Installed with Wubi, but no dual boot screen?

I'm unable to install Mint KDE inside windows using mint4win (wubi style installer for linux mint) but ab...

Re: Network manager & dialup

That part was easy in the old days of KDE 3.5: 1. Assign a static IP address to each card in each computer (different addresses). Also netmask 255.255.255.0 hostname=whatever your computer's called. 2. Install ProFtpd on the box you want to use as the server--or on both boxes, it's not a huge progr...

Re: Mint KDE 9 interface

I can run it in compatibility mode, but that's just the terminal. Just the terminal? can you type startx and then press enter? from there, you can do an installation. maybe you can give some clear info of 1. your hardwares (cpu, gpu, ram in total etc) 2. what have you tried and so on.. someone might ...

Re: Mint KDE 9 interface

stupid question # 1 Is Mint KDE 9 still using the same distro as mint 10? You need to know what is the different between Distro, DE (desktop environment) and window manager. you might want to read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_environment Basically,in short, Mint 9 KDE use KDE as the d...

Re: Dual Processor.

The default in Virtualbox is to run with only one CPU. If you did not opt for 2 CPUs or the setting somehow got reset to 1, this might explain things. This might explain why VB runs slow, but surely 'System Monitor' runs in Mint. So therefore it's reading a total system, not just VB? It takes quite...

Re: WinXP & Isadora

I actually used the automatic mode. I'm trying it again, installed xp and now I'm installing mint, same hd. But I'll search what you recommended me. you might want to google for mint installation how-to/walk-through on the net, but to sum up, if your machine boots directly to xp, meaning to say you...

Re: WinXP & Isadora

sounds like you "choose" to install grub2 to your root partition instead of the mbr of your hdd during your mint installation and perhaps you have choose the manual partitioning option back then. you might need to install grub2 to your mbr and it SHOULD pick up win xp automatically and you can choos...
