Re: Poll: What's Mint KDE 18 like? Please click!

Tried two installations of Mint 18 KDE so far. While it looked pretty nice, I had multiple crashes of the compositor in both installations. Most notably it would crash every time I opened MintUpdate. I have a pretty generic setup on this desktop: Intel Core i5, Intel HD Graphics 4600, 8GB RAM. Never...

Re: About FGLRX and KDE18

If you need to use fglrx drivers, it's probably best to stick with 17.x until such time as AMD writes new drivers for the updated Xorg version.

Re: Mint 18KDE

Just got it off of Heanet...installation went without a hitch, and everything seems to be working well. The only glitch is that so far I can't get video thumbnails to work easily like in 17.3. Something is missing and can't track it down yet. Other than that it seems to look and work better than Kub...

Re: BUG???

Because of the AMD graphics. AMD is not presently supporting Ubuntu 16.04 (and thus Mint 18). confused? It's simply untrue that AMD doesn't support ubuntu 16.04/Mint 18 period. What they don't support in mint 18 is the binary video driver fglrx. Which the OP does not say he/she is using. If so they...

Thank you austin.texas, for showing that Rainy Day Blues theme...I had never seen that one before. Just tried it on my Mint Cinnamon 18 and it has to be the most beautiful theme I've seen for Cinnamon. I've always been a fan of dark themes, but now I've seen the "light"...

Re: Updates

By updating using the method you described, you bypassed the preset stability levels of the Mint Update Manager. It most likely won't cause problems, but if you run into some instability, you now know what is the most likely cause.

Of course, then there's this ... Dear Receiver: You have just received an Irish virus. Since we are not so technologically advanced in Ireland, this is a MANUAL virus. Please delete all the files on your hard disk, and then send this email to everyone you know. That’d be grand. Thanks!  ...
