[Solved] Changing themes (or theme managers) on KDE 4.4?

Just installed Linux Mint KDE 8. And I detest all the wIndows themes that KDE offers - all of it, to me, feels like dressed up Windows 3.0. I also detest the blue colors (liked minty green), and KDE's battleship gray is really getting me down. But that's just me. I'd love to get some Aero Themes ins...

Interesting. What browser (release) and what version of Flash are you using? (Both my systems are 32 bit systems by the way)

Re: Daily Show crashes *all* browsers in Mint/Ubuntu...

Just a (further) thought! You have obviously heavily modified your installation. Have you tried watching the daily show on an un-modified system such as the livecd? "Heavily" is an overstatement. All I did was to upgrade Firefox to 3.6 and update Flash. The whole reason I did so was because the out...

and see if any of those videos play, as I cannot watch the original url as it not available outside the U.S.
Yeah... comedy central. It destroys all my browsers on Linux. Crashes them. Locks 'em up.

Re: Daily Show crashes *all* browsers in Mint/Ubuntu...

Not all are from the US, so not all would know, or understand the show/stream in question causing the issue. Does this occur on this site only, or others as well? Is your system completely up to date? Have you tried other browsers, not just Firefox? So far, it only occurs with Daily Show Videos. Th...

Daily Show crashes *all* browsers in Mint/Ubuntu...

Just wondering if others are having this issue? I've tried running Flash 10.1Beta. Daily Show will play, for about a minute, then Firefox will just vanish. 10.1 is also very crash prone (within the one minute mark) when playing at a site like Hulu. If I use Flash 10.0.X, Hulu works, but all and ever...

Re: Firefox Add-on Issues... (1-Click Weather)

SOLVED. After some searching I discovered that I needed to change the permissions for the file: userconfig116.xml From Read Only to Read/Write. For other newbies from the Windows Side, I found the file by opening File Browser, then "Go", then search for files. Mint didn't find the file the first tim...

Firefox Add-on Issues...

Oh minty ones... there's probably a very simple solution to this:

I've noticed that a number of my Firefox add-ons aren't functioning. For instance, Tabmix, though installed, does nothing. What am I missing?

Re: LiveCD won't Boot?

Yeah, the only thing that doesn't makes sense is why the bios (during boot up) would care what happened while Linux was running? Correlation is not necessarily causation. But I don't have any other explanation. As soon as I properly ejected the original DVD, everything started working again. By the ...

Re: LiveCD won't Boot?

OK, Mint booted and it's working now. Here's where it gets weird. About a three days ago, I plopped in a DVD (Movie) and never finished it. I hibernated the computer. Then I forgot that I had hibernated the computer and wanted to try Mint. So, I turned on the laptop and before Grub kicked in, I phys...

Re: LiveCD won't Boot?

OK. Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Here's what I'm finding out. My drive can read the contents of DVDs, but it can't read CDs whether they're -r +r or standard audio CDs. This is beginning to look like hardware failure (within the last three weeks). So... I suppose I could burn my Mint ISO to a D...

Re: LiveCD won't Boot?

I have had bad iso's from a Mint mirror. Re-download and burn DAO (Disk At Once) Thanks, but this isn't the problem. A.) I can use the LiveCD on my other laptops. B.) My Torox LiveCD also doesn't boot up on the problem laptop. I wouldn't bring this problem to Mint, except that my goal is to install...

Re: LiveCD won't Boot?

OK, let me ask this question another way...

Is it possible that grub is somehow interfering with the LiveCDs?

Re: LiveCD won't Boot?

Is the CD a -R or a -RW? -R. It's the same brand of CD I used to install Ubuntu just three weeks ago. Is the CD a high speed one that won't work in an old drive? Again, it's the same brand of CD used to install Ubuntu. I can't see that this would be an issue. Have you tried creating another CD on a ...

LiveCD won't Boot?

Here's what I know: It's NOT a bad ISO - Checksum verifies a good copy and it boots on my other machines. It's NOT a bad CDRom. I can play DVDs and mount the CD (and view files). The BIOS is set to boot from the CDROM first. I have checked and rechecked this. My Torox LIVEDVD also won't boot on the ...
