Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - read here first - Update 30 mar 2011

I'm using an Nvidia video card. This latest kernel update totally broke my X.
I've renamed xorg.conf and then X started.
After that I had to install nvidia-glx again (I think it was removed during the update) to make it work.

Oh, I see, thank you!

Also thank you for this great theme, now this is my default. ;)

@SkiesOfAzel: There's a problem when trying to make the panel transparent. It's just making parts of it to transparent.

Re: Chrome crashes after first start

@rezz: I'm using Chrome, not Chromium so I don't have that folder. Anyway, why do you think copying Flashplayer to Chrome's folder would help? I don't think that the crash is related to Flash because it only happens at the first start (no Flash sites open, nothing). Also AFAIK Chrome has built in Fl...

Chrome crashes after first start

Hi, I have a problem that Google Chrome crashes every time after I boot up my laptop. Then I force quit it and when I start it the second time veerything works alright. I also tried running it from Terminal to see the error messages but there's none, even when it's crashing. I'm using 64-bit LMDE. D...

Re: Soon in a shop near you

No, I'm using the default kernel in LMDE.
But as far as I know it has the "4 lines of code better than 200" kernel patch. My question is if I update the kernel from LMDE repos (if there will be any updates) will it also contain this patch?

Re: Soon in a shop near you

Thanks for the info! ;)

As far as I know LMDE has some kernel patches by the Mint team. What will happen if I update the kernel from the repositories? Will I lose those patches?

Thanks for sharing, good tutorial.
It doesn't solve my problem though. My problem is that previewing video clips doesn't work for me. When I click on play button nothing happens.

Re: Is LMDE working 100% for you?

For me LMDE 64-bit works great! It's neat, it's fast and it's a pleasure to use. I have 2 problems though: Chrome freezes the first time after LMDE boots up. Everytime when I turn on / restart my notebook and try to run Chrome, it freezes (without any error message in Terminal). After that I "force ...

OpenShot is not working

Hi!

I'm using 64-bit LMDE and installed OpenShot video editor from it's repos. OpenShot executes well but whenever I add a video clip it just won't play it at all. I've tried with different clips (.avi, .mp4, .3gp as well).

Is it working for you? Do you have any ideas how to solve it?

The blog post doesn't tell anything about an improved update manager which would fit LMDE's rolling nature. Any idea when can we expect this?

It's because the icon size is set in pixels now. You should right click on the menu then go to preferences / places and set the icon size to 16. That should fix it.

As I mentioned in another thread mint-x-icons and mint-x-theme packages are already in LMDE's repositories. ;)
