Re: Linux Mint 9 released!

@scorp123: I don't think I offended you. At least I didn't mean to. When I said "it's sad" I meant that "I'm sad that some people doesn't believe in God and they also offend people who does". What I meant about the community is that as far as I realised Linux community is much about understanding an...

Re: Linux Mint 9 released!

... You Americans and your sensitivities ... Know then that other cultures have far less troubles with that. No German, Italian or French TV station will use beep-signals to "beep out" any of the f- or s- words that might occur in those languages. Your's is the only country I know where this ...

Re: Linux Mint 9 "Isadora" RC released!

I installed Linux Mint in Virtualbox just for now. Still waiting for the final release. I couldn't wait, I just installed the RC version. :) I was surprised to see the logo at boot in a good resolution even when I was booting from live CD and also when I first started Mint after the installation. T...

Re: Linux Mint 9 "Isadora" RC released!

Does anyone know, for those of us who added the mirrors from medibuntu's site for the needed repos, if we are to leave it like that or add the repos as we normally would? I tried the quiet update option but had to go with adding the mirrors via sources list once that did not work. Thanks very much ...

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

What am I the most dissatisfied with? This is a really good question because it's a really good Linux distribution. Regarding the default software I'm happy to have Pidgin instead of Empathy, happy to have Gimp and in general I'm quite satisfied with the default apps. I would also include OpenShot v...

Re: Mint vs Ubuntu........ again

I'm wondering if you made any improvements regarding speed / stability or some users just "wanted to" feel that? :) I'd say both :) I know it's an old quote and I also know that Husse's gone and looking at us above. (was a great idea to put quotes from him to the terminal...) Hopefully someone from...

Re: Linux Mint 9 "Isadora" RC released!

I installed Linux Mint in Virtualbox just for now. Still waiting for the final release. I personally always preferred Ubuntu's Software Center over Linux Mint's one. It just looks and works better for me. If I look for "homospien", it founds that theme in Ubuntu but doesn't in Linux Mint even if I c...

Re: Mint vs Ubuntu........ again

I've just switched from Ubuntu a couple of days ago. I wanted to reinstall my OS and I decided to try Linux Mint. I've tried it in Virtualbox before and I liked it. Well, my first experiences are good. But today I added a panel to the top and put the menu and some launchers on it, I got so used to i...

Re: Openshot Video Editor

Being in the suggestions forum and Openshot topic I have the following suggestion: make Openshot the default video editor in Linux Mint 9! Ubuntu will ship Pitivi as it's default video editor in Lucid and I really think that it's a mistake by them. Openshot has many more features, effects it's reall...
