Short cut the Gnome application menu?

I'm in the process of upgrading from Gloria to Isadora (Gnome or XFCE?)...but I like the "right-click" application menu present in older XFCE versions. If I go w/Gnome, is it possible to short-cut the applications menu? Does the application menu open via an "executable" file (or something similar)? ...

Configuring the "right-click" XFCE desktop menu (Mint 9)

I don't think it has been available in Gnome for quite some time. In Xfce and Lxde menus have been made as difficult to configure as they can possibly make them (thanks to xml), which is why I use Fluxbox. If you want to right click your desktop for a properly user configurable menu then that is wh...

Desktop "right-click" Menu XFCE only?

XFCE user (Ellyssa for 512mb, Gloria for 2g). Over the course of time I've become very attached to the customizable menu that is available via a right-click on the desktop (see screenshot). Since I updated from Gloria to Isadora (Gnome), I've been at a loss to find a Desktop Preferences menu option....

Lag & multicolored lines -

I have a two hd dual boot system (512). I recently re-loaded Mint (there was a Windows problem :( ). Since then, as I open the mint menu (sub menus, the firefox, open office etc. ), there's often an ever-so-slight lag, accompanied by a flash of multi-colored lines. What could be the problem? Was my ...

Streaming Music / mPlayer freeze

I frequently stream music (shoutcast) w/my mplayer on Elyssa. Invariably, after some length of time, the mplayer freezes, and won't play again until I reset the machine. I suspect a cache/browser or ram usage problem...am I on the right track? Any hints?

Web Browser - older system

What's the best browser (speed & functionality) to run on Linux mint (elyssa/512ram)? Aside from general surfing, I watch hulu/fancast occasionally.

Bundled Firefox addons

I'm running an older system (512). I've noticed that Firefox has a few bundled add-ons that can be uninstalled, but not permanently deleted from the add-on manager menu. How can I get rid of them entirely? Before, I forget how well good is Opera (I have Elyssa)? Hulu is borderline w/firefox - would ...
