Re: LMDE Moves Up

LMDE is really a matter of getting the distro out there and then updates can be dripped as necessary.

I will probably install the release candidate as soon as it is out there.

Re: When be released LMDE on this December what day?

Most of us are not concerned so much with the new release of 32 bit(most of the people who want 32 bit lmde already have it and can just do the updates)
as opposed to ANY version of the 64 bit lmde.

Re: Legally Removing DRM From iTunes Library

Rob, you may find that your protected music is available through "itunes plus" since many of the songs have been converted to that format since then. They cost 30 cents per song to upgrade , the upgraded song is still ACC but is unprotected and in 256 bit format. unprotected itunes songs can be play...

Re: Firefox 3.6.8 or higher?

Actually 3.6.12 is now available. You just have to run firefox in terminal as sudo

sudo firefox

Then firefox will run as superuser, ignore setup and then to updates under help.
Then once the update is installed close out firefox and your terminal screen and open firefox again and you are done!

Simplicity and function not "fresh" (was gnome vs unity)

Elegance does not mean "ooh how cool" it means things work correctly, it means the user doesnt have to fight the interface to get what they want, when they want and how they want. IMHO there is nothing wrong with the existing gnome interface that demands a new "fresh" look. If anything gnome needs t...

Neither

I vote for sticking with classing gnome interface until something better comes along.
Unity sucks and is unstable, and Gnome shell looks like having an open menu bar on the screen ALL THE TIME!!!!

Referring to it as an edition is incorrect because its not based on the original Linux Mint like the other editions are.

Remove nouveau as default nvidia driver

Just about the first thing any nvidia user does when installing mint is removing nouveau and putting in the real nvidia driver.

Nouveau may be open source but its not a proper replacement and its not ready for prime time.
