Re: Combining Themes for Continuity

Thanks for all your help. It's not working. Having poked around in the actual folders and having a look, both metacity folders for Mint-Y-Dark and Arc-Dark, I've discovered they contain the exact same images. This is not surprising as Mint-Y is based off Arc. I think we may be looking in the wrong f...

No change whatsoever. :(

And I'm assuming I need to restart cinnamon after? If thats the case, alt f2 r works. Alt f2 "rt" doesn't do anything. Or is that supposed to be "return"? Sorry for my noobishness.

Combining Themes for Continuity [SOLVED]

Hello, I have a combination of themes running in Cinnamon. For window borders, I am running Mint-Y-Dark. For controls, I am running Arc-Dark. The result of this combination is a very pleasing (to me) dark theme with blue window control buttons. However, as you can see in the attached images, the Min...

Power Management Applet Mint 17.3 [SOLVED]

Hi all, Wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. Seems that the power management applet isn't displaying/updating the proper state of charge/discharge of my laptop battery. This has occurred now, on two different laptops so, I'm almost certain it's not a hardware issue. The symptom I am exp...

How to show all the info during software updates?

During Software Updates, is there a way to have the "software downloading" and the "installing software" windows default to always "show details" so I don't have to click on the little arrow to show the details?

Re: Machine won't suspend automatically

Found out I could set the screen to lock with Mint's screen locker and the computer does indeed suspend. Weird. Problem then being, I have to type in my password. Is there away to wake from suspend using Mint's screen locker that doesn't require my password? This computer sits beside my bed on my ni...

Re: Dropdown/contextual menu transparencies?

Ah, OK. I may try to mess with it later. There is this:

But, it doesn't affect menu transparencies.

Re: Dropdown/contextual menu transparencies?

I notice you said it should affects "all panel pop-up menus, not just the main menu." That does indeed affect the Cinnamon theme Menu and panel dropdowns. What I'm mostly interested in are dropdowns in my browser or when I right click and a contextual menu shows up. I've added some pics to hopefully...

Dropdown/contextual menu transparencies?

Is it possible to adjust the transparencies of the dropdown and contextual menu panels in Mint 17 Cinnamon? I tried doing some stuff with Compiz but, it had no affect.

Machine won't suspend automatically

I've got Mint 17.1 Cinnamon running on my machine. I installed xscreensaver and added it to start up items. I have it set to activate after 5 minutes of inactivity. I also have the advanced settings set to handle the power management. There, it's set to blank the screen and suspend after 15 minutes....

Re: Return from Suspend

How are you trying to wake up from suspend? On what kind of machine? Reason I ask is, on my desktop , wiggling the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard will not wake the machine up. On that particular machine, I have to push the power button. Press and release, no holding. On both my laptops, I...

Re: GTK theme preferences - Customize GTK themes

Hi. May be there is problem with the theme. Which theme are you using? Also did you try logging out and logging in back? I'm using a theme called "Zukitwo." It doesn't seem to matter what theme I use though. I changed to the default Cinnamon theme, logged out/in with the same results. In fact I sta...

Re: GTK theme preferences - Customize GTK themes

I gotta say, I'm a little confused here. I downloaded and installed the GTK Theme Preference tool and chose a color to change everything (or so I thought) to. The problem I'm coming up against is, there doesnt appear to be any consistancy. Some elements are the color I chose and some arent. See scre...

Thank you so much for this tutorial! However, I am having one issue that is driving me nuts. Upon resume from suspend, xscreensaver is requiring me to enter my password. Any idea how to defeat this?

Re: Maya, MATE, Compiz, Window Roll up?[SOLVED]

The system I'm currently running Mint on has Intel graphics so, I'm not experiencing your blank window issue. Possibly an nVidia issue? Hope you can get it sorted.

I for one, couldn't be happier with Mint with the MATE DE. So nice to have my good ol' Gnome 2 environment back! 8)
