Re: Maya, MATE, Compiz, Window Roll up?

Use Ubuntu tweak to do this. You should have option in the Tweaks tab, Window button. See here (search for 'allows you to customize window title bar options' on the page): http://www.howtogeek.com/112974/how-to-customize-ubuntu-with-ubuntu-tweak/ There should be a 'Roll Up' selection in the combobo...

Maya, MATE, Compiz, Window Roll up?[SOLVED]

I am running Linux Mint 13 MATE 32 bit with Compiz replacing Marco as the default window manager. Everything is perfect except, I can't figure out how achieve window roll up on double click of the title bar. It's the only thing I am missing and, it is sorely missed! As it stands now, All double clic...

Some awesome stuff there. Thanks! Of special interest is the mirror extention that moves the top panel to the bottom. Why that isn't default I've no idea.

I don't get it and am frustrated

Did a clean Lisa install on my laptop. I'd really like to get all this sorted. Gnome 3/shell is really confusing to me and not at all straight forward. 1. How do you add anything (links, app shortcuts, pannel applets) to either of the panels? Right clicking does nothing. I used to be able to add pan...

Re: What is the most userfriendly Linux distro ?

What Linux version is the most userfriendly Linux Mint and resembles most the graphical interface of Mac’s OS X ? Have a look at Zorin OS . It has a "look changer" application that makes it easy to switch between several convincingly familiar desktop configurations; one being Mac OS. As to the user...

Re: How to play Plants vs Zombies in Mint?

I don't have any experience with Plant vs. Zombies but, I do with other Pop Cap games on Linux. I couldn't get any of the Bejeweled games to run. Seems there are DirectX issues that are unsolvable via WINE. Might be the case here, I don't know. Wish I could offer some sort of solution. Good luck!

Re: When is linux mint 12 going to be out?

Any way we can get some sort of ETA? From the Linux Mint Blog on Linux Mint's Home Page: ETA Traditionally, we release at the end of November, usually around the 20th. With that said, quality matters more than the time-frame and so until we’re happy with what we have, we won’t release it. We releas...

[Solved]Cannot read text on hover over

Weird issue started on this fresh re-install of Julia. Whenever I hover over a place where a pop-up notification is supposed to appear, I cannot read the text inside the pop-up box. Anyone know what's going on? http://i103.removed/albums/m132/bug67/Computer/Screenshot-4.png Don't have this problem o...

If you launch Synaptic Package Manager (Menu>Package Manager) any type in xscreensaver, there's something like 200 extra screensavers there.

Yay! That guide fixed it! :D

The only thing I would add is, make sure Pidgin is uninstalled before beginning the guide. Took me a few tries to figure that out.

Yay! This fixed my issue with Pidgin! :D

The only thing I would would be that, I had to completely uninstall Pidgin before I began your procedure. After that, it worked like a charm!

Re: Broken Pidgin Package?

I'm kinda thinking this may be an issue on the Pidgin end. I'm going to try completely uninstalling Pidgin when I get home from work and then re-installing in accordance with these instructions: http://www.pidgin.im/download/ubuntu/ Not sure it's really any different than instructions posted elsewhe...

Re: Broken Pidgin Package?

I'm not doubting what you're saying about fixing the repos ( if that's what I need to do) but, I am asking very specific questions about which version of Mint we're dealing with here. The link you posted is discussing a completely different version that the one I am using. Also, the person in you li...

I have had broken repos in the past and have had to fix them hope it works for you have a great night OK. Like I said, the link you posted appears to be dealing with "Lucid/Isadora". Do I just swap those with Maverick/Julia nomenclature? Also like I said, turns out the person in the link had networ...

Broken Pidgin Package? [SOLVED]

Had updates available today. They were all for Pidgin. When done, it seems they broke Pidgin. Told me I could find them under the "Broken" filter. Sure enough, Pidgin data is broken. Also receiving this message: E: /var/cache/apt/archives/pidgin-data_1%3a2.7.8-1~removed1_all.deb: trying to overwrite...

I got this message the other day too. I downloaded and installed (just checked one at a time) each update one at a time and had no problems. Tedious but it worked.
