No thumbnails at all in Nemo 2.08

Mint 13 LTS plus Nemo 2.08 from backports. This is becoming important now as I have a large number of photos and without the thumbnails it is getting frustrating to use Nemo. I have obviously set thumbnails to be displayed in preferences and increased the file size to max - 4 Gb but no thumbnails ar...

Re: [SOLVED] Upgrading Mint 13 to Cinnamon 2.0 - Nautilus re

Well done, have you got video thumbnails working in Nemo 2.08 ? I can't :([/quote] I have thumbnails for my videos but I've noticed .png files aren't showing thumbnails correctly in Nemo 2.08. I'm using the Faenza-Darkest icon set but even when I change the icon theme to default or any other theme ...

Re: [SOLVED] Upgrading Mint 13 to Cinnamon 2.0 - Nautilus re

Yesterday I upgraded Cinnamon to 2.0.14 but still had Nautilus controlling the file handling. A waste of space and resources as Nautilus is now unneeded. I removed Nautilus-data (Complete removal) through Synaptic and and automatically the needed packages for Cinnamon 2.0 downloaded, installed and ...

Re: Cinnamon/Nemo is lying to me.

Just a quick thought for the mint devs. Maybe there should be a tab in the preferences in mint update to "Clean" downloaded updates to save space. This would prevent build up of unneccesary packages in the /var directory as I think my 4,6 GB was built up over a year. Although experienced u...

Re: Cinnamon/Nemo is lying to me.

Thanks Karlchen that really helped. I Ran df -k and it showed that Nemo was in fact correct. Upon further analysis of the / directories I found that /var was 4.6Gb and that running apt-get clean freed up a lot of space. Many thanks once again for pointing me in the right direction to look. Feel a li...

Cinnamon/Nemo is lying to me.[SOLVED]

System Mint 13 with backports and cinnamon 2 and Nemo 2.08. Ever since upgrading to Cinnamon 2 and Nemo I get a message at start up, after login, to say that the root directory has only 400 ish Mb space. The drive capacity is 500GB and I have over 100 Gb spare capacity according to disk analysis. I ...

Re: Screen requires password after wakeup (SOLVED)

There appear to be several (conflicting) settings dialogues in Mint governing the same settings... I reckon this needs sorting. I already had (per Software Centre) Cinnamon-Control-Center installed. Invoking this with [Alt][F2] "cinnamon-control-center" gave me a dialogue with a s...

Re: Screen requires password after wakeup

Latest updates today to mint control centre seem to have given control back to the user.
Will mark as solved.

Screen requires password after wakeup

Even though I have set to "OFF" the screen still requires a password when waking. This has changed since update to Cinnamon2 from backports on Maya 13.

Also why are system settings spread all over the place - most confusing. Another backward step for Mint.

Guayadeque music player

I like Guayadeque as my default music player but cannot make it the default in Mint 13 as it does not appear as an option - just banshee and vlc.
How do I set guayadeque as the default ?

I have also had this happen with Firefox. In my case a Alt+F2 then "r" to restart gnome shell made the box disappear.(Until the next time :? )

Re: Mounted drives uses Nautilus not Nemo

Hi Karl,
I tend to agree, to find the reason is the preferred solution. Also as Mint 13 was shipped with Nautilus as standard I am not to sure that removing it may have "other effects" that are unwanted.

Re: Mounted drives uses Nautilus not Nemo

Thanks Karl, but that post doesn't have any effect on what program handles the mounted device. Even though Nemo is set to handle files and desktop the mounted device is always opened by Nautilus.

Mounted drives uses Nautilus not Nemo

Even though I have Nemo set to handle the desktop when I plug in a USB key and double click to open the device is opened with Nautilus and not Nemo. There doesn't seem to be any configuration possible in dconf editor.
Any advice please.
Meant to say, Mint 13 LTS with Cinnamon 1.8

Shotwell broken after update for libgexiv 2-0

Shotwell installed from yorba PPA (version 0.14) has been broken by todays upgrade from libgexiv2-0 to 2-1.
Yorba website says libgexiv 2-1 is OK.
Running mint 13 LTS
Any pointers ?
