Re: virtual box vs dual boot

I don't use my computer for gaming , so that's not an issue.

I'm just reading up on it now, I still haven't decided if I'm going to do it yet.

[SOLVED]virtual box vs dual boot

I have a laptop which I just installed Mint, and now I was thinking about dual booting it with windows xp. can I still do it , or do I need to start over and install xp first? I've set up dual boot machines before , but I usually start with windows first. I don't know how to go about partitioning an...

Re: weaker wireless signal with Mint than Ubuntu

hey Bob, thanks again for the reply and the link. but, how is a windows driver going to help? I want to use the same driver Ubuntu was using for that wireless USB adapter and use it when I'm using Mint. do you know how to do that? or, anyone else know that could instruct me on how I could do this?

Re: weaker wireless signal with Mint than Ubuntu

ok, here's some more info if it will help. I've got a Dell D620 laptop , and what I did was install a new WD hard drive and installed Mint on the new drive. I didn't change anything else. when I got through installing Mint, that's when I noticed that my wireless signal strength is now showing 1-2 ba...

Re: weaker wireless signal with Mint than Ubuntu

hi Bob, thanks for the reply. I guess I really should have done a speed test , but I was just told that it may be the drivers that's causing it. its just not picking up the signal from my router in Mint as well as does when I'm using Ubuntu. My speed to the modem shouldn't be any different , as I ha...

[SOLVED]deleted my volume control

how do I restore my volume control icon?

for some reason I had two in the lower right corner of the panel, and when I tried to delete it I deleted both of them and the one that monitors my wireless signal. I right clicked and went to add to panel but I didn't see anything to put it back .

Re: how to monitor temps in Mint

Hi Oscar,

thanks, I found the screenshot app.

I didn't see any temp monitor , though. The only monitor I found was the system monitor, and it didn't have a temp monitor.
