Re: How to overwrite previous installation?

The Grub menu has 5 possible boot selections. The top one boots into the "filesystem" (my most recent installation of Mint 8 ) The 2nd and 3rd give the error: "There is a problem with the configuration server. (/usr/lib/libconf2-4/conf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)" The ...

Re: Need to update Firefox and UTube viewer

I gave up on the backup and just reinstalled Mint 8 as ANOTHER instance on the HD so now I just go to "File systerm 580gb" and find my old files. I still cannot boot the older installation.

Re: Need to update Firefox and UTube viewer

I went to the suggested page and followed the instructions for Mint 8 to the letter. When I got to selecting the source and the destination it offered OEM as a possibility. I have NEVER known what this is because I apparently have two complete sets of files, one the is directly below "Home/Docu...

Re: Virus or something else???? Mint 8

Closing the window by clicking X is not shutting down the application, it's only shutting the window. The application is still running or can be, in this case it's running away so I'd imagine it would still be running. You need to kill that process, The application was terminated. I switched to Ope...

Re: Adaptive Multirate decoder

I got VLC loaded and it works fine with my video files with the .3gp extension but for some reason it doesnt recognise them as "Media Files" and I have to set the search on "All Files" to see them in the directory. But it does play them with video and audio perfectly. But worse, ...
