Some programmes requre install time downloads.To achieve this for windows programmes,we dont just use wine,you need
to configure winetricks,which need more commands to be succesful.

I can see that going up,cd works.However to go a level down,you use cd,a space and two dots(cd ..)

did you install the mint from a diffrent machine?if so then thats the problem,if not
the you messed in the partition table.I dont think you gave the right memory to mostly
swap and the root.You may have escaped in the installation,but you cant escape in the running problems.

since you have already installed your OS ,you can or you may not use a cd again. if not to use cd,go to the terminal and type su it prompts you for password and you enter it,actually with no graphical output. after that ,type gparted you can delete any partition from there ,leaving what you want.Mak...

at terminal,type su in-order to get the root privilege.

are the for 4 linux 8 installed?if so,why have 4 same linux installed?anyway,make sure if you are installing,go to the partition table and remove
anything you dont want,since by the look of things,they four are still installed.

That would be determined on how you deal with the partition table. To cut long story short,on the partition table,delete all partitions that are not NTFS.that should be the one with LUCID(UBUNTU 10.04) work with that portion of partition table you have deleted, making sure you give the right memory ...
