And yet another noob question: When I emulate windows programmes (games) with Wine on Mint, are there any actual files stored on my harddisk? I think Mint is easier for noobs like me to get into Linux compared to regular Ubuntu (which I also did like, though). I really like the support and the appearance,but I wouldn't say Mint is just closer to Windows. I would say it is easier to install applications etc. compared to Ubuntu for beginner...

Recommended games on linux Mint

Hi guys, are there any games you have played with good results on Linux Mint with Wine and/or Wine doors (I"m currently using Helena 8) ? So far I have been able to install and play Call of Duty 2, but with some sound problems.

Thanks all for your great suggestions, I decided to give Linux Puppy a try but due to problems with a connection cable it did not work out...so I ll scan for some old floppy disks and give kolibrios a try! I ll keep you updated

And as I said, its just curiosity what to do with such an old thing before throwing it away...
