Thank you, it works now.

However, there are still memory leak issues (this was the main reason I switched to nightly builds).

Re: Possible to load cinnamon without panel?

cairo-dock session uses gnome-fallback with compiz What is the source for this information? I run cairo-dock here and don't have compiz installed but can still run a dock-session, though as I run shell I normally use the gnome session with the panel set to overview mode only. That way I only see my...

Have you tried selecting the cairo-dock session at the login screen?
Yes, but cairo-dock session uses gnome-fallback with compiz. One of the thing I like with cinnamon is that it doesn't rely on compiz which has many bugs on the last versions.

Re: Any news on Cinnamon?

I'm actually on the last nighty build and enjoy some improvements. However, the very good "desktop scroller" extension does'nt work anymore. Any idea to fix it? Edge Flip is better than nothing, but I still want dekstop scoller.

Re: Possible to load cinnamon without panel?

Better solution: update cinnamon with the nigntly build.

http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 20#p593454

With the new version, we can fix the height to 0 pixel directly in cinnamon preferences. No artifact at all.

Re: Possible to load cinnamon without panel?

The best workaround I have found: 1) bottom autohide panel (the trick doesn't seem to work with a top panel). 2) change to height (0 instead 25) in this file: /usr/share/cinnamon/js/ui/panel.js 3) relogin After a fresh login, the panel is there but when we pass on it with the mouse, it hides and nev...

Re: vdpau gnome-mplayer: option panel each time?

I've seen the same thing, starting from Mint 13. This and other annoying bugs lead me to drop Gnome MPlayer for SMplayer. Thank you veggen for this suggestion. SMplayer works very well! The time slider doesn't work, but only for m2ts file (can do 10 minutes jumps, so I have a workaround). With vdpa...

[SOLVED] vdpau gnome-mplayer: option panel each time?

I would like to use vdpau with gnome-mplayer on mint13-cinnamon (nvidia proprietary drivers). It works, but each time I load a movie, I have to visit the option panel and close it (wihtout changing anything). Otherwise I only get sound (black or grey image). I tried to replace mplayer2 by mplayer an...

How to completely replace thunar in maya xfce?

I'm on mint 13 xfce 64 bit. I installed nautilus and use it as my main file manager. However, thunar still manages the desktop and (more important) inserted media. How can I make nautilus completely replace thunar and prevent any thunar running in the background (preferably system-wide)? If I rememb...

Re: Any news on Cinnamon?

Is there any way to get new features in maya without nightly PPA? I'm a bit nervous and would prefer a "stable" PPA or something less risky.

The main feature I wait for is "workspace flip on move" and I think this feature is available in recent builds (or will be soon).

Possible to load cinnamon without panel?

I actually use cairo-dock with an autohide cinnamon panel. However, I would prefer to completely remove the panel, since the dock does all I need. Is there any file I can edit to prevent the load of any panel (or to load cairo-dock instead, if it must load something). I still want to run cinnamon an...

but it still should be easier to "grab" than it was before. In VLC it seems to be a dark triangle in the lower right corner. I can still grab the window frames to re-size also, I think Gnome only really had a visual in the lower right corner. No it's not easier than it was before, except for some a...

Re: xfce - resizing-area easteregg-hunt

Here is what i have done (not sure if it's what you mean): 1) In /usr/share/themes/Mint-X/gtk-2.0, I added the above mentionned lines to the gtkrc file. 2) In /usr/share/themes/Mint-X/gtk-3.0, I modifed the existing GtkWindow-resize-grip lines to "3" (in gtk-widgets.css file) 3) I still have the add...

Re: xfce - resizing-area easteregg-hunt

I understand that this is caused by a change in ubuntu 12.04 that affects xfce but I can't believe we will have to accept this. I don't think it's an ubu 12.04 thing. The corner grips in Xfce have always been hard to get hold of. It's like they have 1 pixel of active area or something. Maybe this b...

Re: xfce - resizing-area easteregg-hunt

I think (not sure!) the author of this post has troubles with windows resize grips in mint13 xfce. In fact, I have this issue too (with xfce composition, but not with compiz). Open any windows and try to resize it (both height et width at the same time) with the mouse only (not the alt-right click t...

Re: switching users from lockscreen - not possible?!

Just for your information, the symlink trick is also required with maya xfce using xscreensaver. With this screensaver, the button is there but doesn't work until gdmflexiserver exists. I would like to go a step beyond with the cairo-dock logout applet (on cinnamon or xfce). When gdmflexiserver exis...

Re: Mate or Cinnamon?

I come from Gnome2 with Compiz and cairo-dock. I'm sad to say that MATE or Cinnamon can't satisfy me, but have great hope on XFCE edition (maybe with an added gnome-fallback session). I experimented a lot with MATE (both LM13 and LMDE) and I don't think it's a good idea. MATE is presented as a subst...

Re: suspend/wake on AMD C-50 with fglrx: nearly functional?

Finally, the trick (with adaptation) works better on a ubuntu base (not tried on mint 13, but on xubuntu 12.04). In brief, I have to do 2 manual suspend-wake-vbetool from a terminal and return to X. But after, I can suspend-wake from X (until next reboot)! See http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=...
