From Google, this worked for me: Open the file manager as root, then navigate to /etc/xdg/lxdm and you'll see the lxdm.conf file. Open that file and you'll see options for autologin and session. Great news! I am eagerly awaiting the Release Candidate. I have Mint 9 LXDE RC on my laptop right now because I could get Skype to work with it (I couldn't get the sound to work with Skype in Mint 8 XFCE on my laptop). This worked for me too, although my system did not have an xorg.conf file so I had to create one first.
