Hi riki, If you give some information someone might see something that could be an issue. Posting the output of systemd-analyze blame , lsblk -f and cat /etc/fstab might tell us something. Other than I am running Mate environment what else can I add? I have just timed it and it takes no less than 1...

Slow boot 18.1

Maya was booting in about 30 seconds...Serena 18.1 well over a minute. Disappointed.

Hello, riki. The answer to your question depends on the desktop environment which you use on Mint 18.1. I.e. are you using Mint 18.1 Cinnamon / Mate / xfce or KDE? No startup music on 18.1 (SOLVED)

I have just switched from Maya to Serena 18.1 and no longer get the short burst of music at startup. How do I get it back? Thanks for help.

It seems there aren't any repositories for ubuntu under packages.mate-desktop.org, so you might as well remove that one.[/quote]

I have unticked the second and third entries from the bottom and it seems to have done the trick!

I am running LM13 Maya and been getting the same error message for the last few months. It would be nice to be able to eliminate such annoying message each time there is an update. There must be a way without doing a clean install/upgrade. I am quite happy with Maya LTS which is supported until 2017.
