Re: Dual boot won't boot into linux mint

Glad you got sorted. The reason I asked you to post the output was because the boot flag should have been showing on sda1 ( which is the mbr partition ) not sda2. What do you want to copy from the USB? With regard to the grub entry you can change it by editing the grub.cfg file. Which version of Min...

Re: Dual boot won't boot into linux mint

Can you repeat the following check in the terminal as the boot flag should show in the mbr (msdos 1) not 2

Code: Select all

 sudo parted -l

Re: how to download pictures from a nikon camera

You should just be able to connect the usb cable to the camera and computer and Mint will show the camera in the file manager as an external drive. Then just open the file and copy and paste the photos. Alternatively Mint will probably ask you to open the file with whatever appropriate software you ...

Open up Libre Office Calc and under help look at the last option (about libre office ) and the version is there. To find out which version of Mint open a terminal and enter the following cat /etc/*-release Yes you should re-install Libre Office. There is a metapackage in the software manager which w...

Re: Reinstall Mint, reuse existing ecryptfs home

If when installing you get to the installation type screen, select the last option something else. Install the root to your old root partition after formatting it and assign the existing home partition to home but do not select to format it. The new install will then pick up all your settings from y...

Re: Cannot upgrade due to problems?

I am unable to suggest a resolution at the moment but it would be useful for you to give us more information.

1. What are you upgrading from and to.

2. Full details of your system.

3. How you have mint installed i.e do you have a separate root and home partition

Re: Problems after removing 2nd distro

IMHO you may have damaged the LM13 install when you resized the partition. As you do not say that you have a separate home partition you cannot just reload LM13 so I suggest that copy the user files to another partition and then re-install LM13 telling it to use the partition that you copied your ho...

Re: New Computer having connectivity problems
