Swapping International Keyboards

Hi, I write in two (sometimes several) languages and have installed Mint 10 software for keyboard layouts for USA English and Lithuanian. I would like to improve the ability to swap between the two layouts. In Mint 9 that was possible by clicking the language indicator on the tool bar - this action ...

Re: Switching Keyboards

Hi, what you are asking really should be very simple. I regularly switch between 3 keyboard layouts. So, first of all, you need to install the extra layouts: Menu->Preferences->keyboard. On the layouts tab add whatever layouts you want. Then, click on options->"Key(s) to change layout" to chose a s...

[SOLVED] Switching Keyboards

I need to type in two languages, often switching from one to the other, I've read the thread of Feb 02. 2010, started by "MrNoah" with replies from "rich-roast". The suggestions just do not work for me... The suggested right-click panel and select "Add to panel..." fails to show a "switch-keyboard" ...

Re: HP210-1000 notebook usb booting

Why can't you just enable the option in the BIOS assuming the laptop is capable of this. If you are not able to access the BIOS, why not? In that case how do we know the laptop is your's or you have a right to boot from USB - many company issued devices are locked for example specifically to stop e...

Hi, I have just acquired this lovely notebook and look forward to using Linux on it. However, I am not able to boot to a memory stick as I can not find the key combination that would during POST cause the notebook to boot from the usb device. I expect that this is possible, so can someone help me an...

Hope this works for ya.
Great to be pointed to the right direction! It seems that the earlier thread about this feature had a wrong answer. Three cheers to Australia!

[SOLVED]Password check

Mint9 is ubuntu 10.4 on steroids! One feature I find irritating: after approx. 5 minutes idling gnome desktop requires a password check. I read in another thread that this feature can not be disabled. Be as it may, surely there is a configuration script that would allow increase of the idle time bef...

Installing Mint9 on a eee netbook

Hi,

To install ubuntu 10.4 on a netbook one installs UNE (Remix) version to memory stick first, then from the memory stick one installs it in the netbook.

How do I install Mint9 on a "eee" netbook?

All hints are greatly appreciated.

Re:[solved] Change of desktop workspace switching

Go to the Menu, go to Preferences, then Compiz Config Settings Manager. Here, in the Desktop section, select desktop wall and in the window that appears, select the Bindings tab. Here you can change what actions make the viewport switch happen. Expand the 'Move within Wall' option, and on the move ...

Change of desktop workspace switching

Hi, I want a simple desktop switching between my 4 desktop workspaces. By right clicking on the bottom panel I've added the Wall type workspace switch. It is very nice - I like it a lot. I want the workspace switching to take place when I click on the Wall workspace switch and not by any other metho...
