Re: Libparted bug found! message

Be aware of this: You cannot use Gparted on a mounted partition . It must be unmounted first. And if that partition is in use by the OS that is resident to the drive, you will not be able to unmount it. I have to disagree.. I have Gparted installed to my root partition on sda and it reads all parti...

Re: anybody got iTunes running on LM17 Cinnamon?

There are other download places that are as good or better than iTunes. Find one to your liking and use it. If you need backup cloud storage there is DropBox or better with more free storage Google Drive. Several Linux music players let you access your iPod, iTouch, or iPhone music which is all you ...

Re: Will Linux Mint break my PC?

In all probability a reboot will melt the platters in your harddrive which will then cause your computer to flame out which will then burn down your house. It could also cause a nuclear chain reaction which will trigger a nuclear detonation destroying your whole neighborhood and city...  ...

I use Mac for iTunes but I think you can install Windows or Mac in VB and install iTunes. Haven't done it myself but it stands to reason it should work..

Re: New to Smartphones - Need guidance.

As for why I want my own OS - I do not like any of the OS currently on the phones. Many of them are embedded with software I will never use or that I consider to be bloatware. Ignore or just disabling it - is not an option for me. I want them out and I want to control them as much as I can control ...

Re: What mobile operating system do you use?

After watching the news about the iPhone 6 today I am a bit disappointed with its specs.. I really expected more from it... It is a nice looking phone and I will in all probability upgrade but I am going to wait and see if an updated version will come out..

I am more interested in IOS8 right now..

Re: "Remember Backing Up to Diskettes?" (really funny articl

I still remember having to load the operating system from a cassette and backing up your data to a blank cassette. If the power went out you lost whatever you were working on then reload the os once power was restored which meant having to start over.. I won't even begin to talk about punch cards. I...

Re: Can't enable publish-to-Facebook in Shotwell

I tried it in Mint 17 Mate and it works for me and I did not have to install anything else.. Ah, makes sense - MATE is based on GNOME so gnome-control-center-signon should be available. On Cinnamon it tries to pull in Unity. The newest ppa version does not use gnome-control-signon. The issue was fi...

Maybe you were using a "fake" Playstore. Those do exist. If the playstore isn't installed best to find and flash gapps instead of using an APK of it. I know the difference and that is not the case.. It's well known that Google store has malware infected apps they finally pulled a fake anti-virus ap...
