Re: Language support

The way I know is to open the terminal and sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales This will enable you to choose all supported languages and the default one. Then you can either login with one of them by choosing it in GDM's screen or run just an application in one of those supported languages. For Firefox, ...

Re: Browser recommendation

Hello, ukbrian. Midori is a nice alternative browser with nice features but of course it can't compare with Firefox when it comes to add-ons (I think no browser can). Regarding the spped dial add-on not being incorporated in FF I think that's the way things should be, as long as the add-on works wel...

Re: catalan language for Imagination

Glad that you did it, it's easy right? Now please attach here the file ca.po that you completed so I ask the maintainer of Imagination in Debian if he wants to include it (make sure you translated it well uh  ). The development version is 3.0 but I'm not sure if it's still being developed so m...

Re: Showstoppers

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! (bet you haven't heard that for years). Someone finally came up with a solution to the Google Earth problem. I installed libgl1-mesa-dri, rebooted, went to Terminal and typed googleearth, and it works perfectly! Like someone said, the fonts kinda suck, but the program...

Re: Showstoppers

I don't want to lead anyone astray here with my own accidental resolution to the 'LMDE GoogleEarth' problem, so YMMV: While trying to install 'Compiz', I noticed that my 'glx/dri' stuff was not working, so I installed the missing package 'libgl1-mesa-dri', and that (mostly) solved my Compiz problem...

Re: catalan language for Imagination

I can help you Miguel. I wrote instructions for you to traslate it all by yourself but I just found out that it's already translated to Catalan in the development version, so all you have to do is adapt to the 2.1 version that you have. The development version (3.0) is already translated to Catalan,...

Re: Browser recommendation

I think that for some reason, javascript was disabled in my locally built midori so speed dial couldn't show up. Now that I played a while with the installed package from frickelplatz.de, the locally built one has speed dial working. BTW, one of midori's extensions does just that, quickly enabling/d...

Re: Browser recommendation

Thank you for the compliment, cliste. Midori has many features, version 0.2.8 is already quite ahead from 0.2.4 (but it will come down to Debian testing in the due time).

Re: Browser recommendation

Thank you very much for that, craigevil. I had installed the Lucid version from the PPA  The locally built ones, for some unknown reason to me just open a blank page instead of the speed dial (I suspect some config. file is the culprit because speed dial works with installed packages but if I ...

Re: I changed from testing to unstable and have a problem :D

I also had a problem with gtk-recordmydesktop, the "Advanced" button did not work so I was unable to record sound but I think that was the GUI not the VLC tweak. ukbrian sudo apt-get install jackd It's a bug in the package. Installing jackd solves it: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bu...

Re: Browser recommendation

Galeon and Midori are my secondary browsers now, I'd like to be able to set up a keyword search like in firefox, if anyone knows how/if possible! Have a look at the (tiny) video I made: http://www.sendspace.com/file/gle6g9 BTW, Midori renders this forum much better than Firefox. It seems to render ...

Re: I changed from testing to unstable and have a problem :D

Unless you know you need it I would simply remove the package. You might also drop a line to marillat@free.fr and let him know about the size mismatch. I don't know if I need it and I think I'll do a fresh install and update and see if I can reproduce the error before disturbing the Gods :D but tha...

Re: any way to install latest PSPP

You could download the source and compile it. There seems to be comprehensive instructions at http://www.gnu.org/software/pspp/get.html (see the INSTALL link). Something that may help you is to enable the source repository in /etc/apt/sources.list (the one starting with deb-src), and run apt-get upd...

At http://sidux.com/index.php?module=Wikula&lang=de&tag=PulseAudio (and subsequent page) you'll find information on configuring pulseaudio. LMDE has it installed already but you may need to configure it. I read also in this forum that it may be needed to configure Firefox to use pulseaudio. Please s...
