Re: gnome v mint debian gnome

If it's some graphic driver thing that could be resolved with an update you could try updating from the command line and then booting to the desktop. Just guessing.

How to report bugs in Debian.

Use the Reportbug application (package reportbug-gtk) and follow the instructions. Before, have a look at http://wiki.debian.org/reportbug Reportbug-gtk itself sometimes crash, just restart it and try again, slowly  reportbug from the command line works fine. This should be useful for the next...

Re: Same software on all versions of Mint?

I think Skype doesn't update their packages for Linux for ages or am I wrong? But they don't have a repository. NVIDIA drivers are in the repository, I think you could install it with sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx for newer cards and then reboot. Better do it from the command line just in case: cl...

Firefox updated!

Hello, Firefox was updated yesterday from 3.6.8 to 3.6.9.
I reckon the Linux Mint team created this package specially for Mint Debian and I'm also guessing they must be quite busy with all that's going on but I'm leaving here this reminder just in case.
Thank you all.

Re: LMDE installed

Ok so the Linux Mint I am running now is a totally different Linux Mint? I have to do a fresh install of this new one? It's different in the sense one is not compatible with the other but they both use GNOME and are similarly set up. If you're ok with your Isadora then keep it. LMDE hasn't yet some...

Re: Lost!!! Can't install LMDE

First create a new partition with Gparted then I read that you have to right-click it in the installer and choose (/) for the mount point.
(I didn't install it myself)

Re: Mint Debian

Again, the missing description/maintainer issue. I understand it's harmless (thank you for confirming that, secipolla) , but it really looks bad. Can something be done about this? If you could ask APT to shut up! :) Regarding configuration files being replaced, APT asks you about it in case you had...

Re: Mint Debian

Hello, I've been reading this thread for some time. I'm not using mint Debian, just Sid with LXDE in this small 30 GB HD. But I already use Mint's repository for Firefox. Just to point out some things: - debian-multimedia.org from time to time has to be commented in sources.list for apt-get update t...
