Re: Package Manager

@Blowtorch, I used synaptics to install update-manager-gnome, and I noticed that it also installed update-manager-core as a dependancy or at least synaptics indicated it would. I also installed the update-manager-gnome doc package at the same time. However, I will attempt to re-install all three ju...

Re: Mp3 works with stock linux kernel, but not with Liquorix

It apparently makes no difference whether the .35 or .36 kernel is installed. I just noticed the same thing, and I tried booting from both the .36 and .35, and it makes no difference on my machine. With the .36 kernel, I did get a halfway mount, meaning my Fuze and the SD card in it showed up in Na...

Re: HOW TO: Solve your LMDE audio issues

No luck yet. I tried adding "acer" or "acer-dmic" or "acer-aspire" to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf and reboot. In all the 3 case, there is no choice for headphone in the connector under Sound preference>output>connector. Back to the wine, how can I modify it to use pu...

How do i stay logged in as ROOT or what ever in the entire system? How a sever a password is a good ideal, But this is not a freaking sever, I should not have to enter a million passwords to move a file from one folder to the next, Which is imposable to do anyway since you can't login into the fold...

Re: Package Manager

Hi viking777 and sgosnell, Firstly, when i click on package manager it comes up asking for my password granting rights and then everything vanishes of the screen and nothing else happens even if I try it again. More reading, more misadventure, and definitely more than I can remember, but I got it working. The short version is that I installed fglrx (ATI proprietary driver) , worked with it to get back to a stable desktop, and followed this guide from the Debian Wiki (sort of). I learned a lot as I went (I...
