Re: My Aspire One Card readers; they no worky!

Hi there!

Thanks for the advice! I'll check those out and see how they were.

I hadn't thought about the capacity of the SD card I was inserting; I was using a 16G card I like to use for data and all that fun stuff...

Re: Change keyboard language in XFCE

Well, that didn't go too well! I right clicked on the panel; no problem there. However , there was no keyboard applet to be seen! I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything that could've tampered with that panel bit. I added some panels of my own, but I'm certain I didn't delete anything then? What should...

Re: Editing the XFCE menu sort of thing

Groovy!! It works!!

That was easier than I thought! I was just too accustomed to the GUI way of changing things, but this works just fine!

Thanks for that!

I'll get used to this Linux business yet!

[Solved] Change keyboard language in XFCE

Hi there! Something I'd like to be able to do from time to time is type something within an English document that's in another language. Specifically either Spanish or Polytonic (i.e. Ancient) Greek. However, I can't figure out how to do this. I'd just like to be able to change the keyboard temporar...

[Solved] Editing the XFCE menu sort of thing

Hi!

Could someone tell me how to edit the menu in XFCE? I uninstalled one program I didn't want, but it's icon is still on the menu (nothing happens when I click on it). I couldn't figure out how to manipulate the menu nor find a package to allow me to do so.

Thanks...

Re: program launchers in XFCE

Hi All! Well, I got the panels and all that working just fine. It took a little messing about; finding the right icon and the right executable individually, but that wasn't so tough. I didn't have that many panel launches to make. But I will say I like the fact there's up to 9 different panels you c...

[Solved] USB floppy drive

Hi!

I found a USB floppy drive (made by Mad Dog) I forgot I had.

It doesn't seem to want to mount, though. Anyone have an idea bout this?

It's not a "must have" piece of gear, but it would be nice if I could use it sometimes...

Thanks, all!

[Solved] My Aspire One Card readers; they no worky!

Hi all! I've divorced myself from Windows and put all three of my computers (a desktop, a netbook, and a laptop) on Linux Mint and Ubuntu. I'm just having a bit of problem with my netbook; it's an Acer Aspire One netbook I bought two years ago. Everything seems to work just fine, except the two card...

Re: program launchers in XFCE

Now all I need to figure out is where the program launchers are usually kept. In /usr/bin to tell launchers what to launch? For all apps in your path, /usr/bin, you can just write its name. E.g. for a Firefox launcher, just write: firefox, or firefox %u, without capital letter at the beginning. To ...

Re: program launchers in XFCE

I almost have it! I've figured out how to find the desktop launcher and the panel things. But what directories would I need to look for programs in to tell launchers what to launch? I found usr/share/pixmaps no problem. Now all I need to figure out is where the program launchers are usually kept. I ...

Re: program launchers in XFCE

Hello there! Okay, thanks for the information; I'll check out those two things and see what happens. I'm still fairly new to the whole Linux thing... The desk launcher icon thing; I take it you have to know the command to type in for a given application. Where would those be? I stumbled on the panel...

[Solved] Program launchers in XFCE

Hi!

Just thought I'd give Linux Mint 9 XFCE a go on my netbook. Looks good so far. Except I've noticed you can't put a launcher icon on the desktop as easily as I would like. How do you go about that?
