Re: KDE apps on LMDE?

I just installed k3b myself (after looking for gnomebaker and not finding it...), and likewise it wasn't on the menu. I added a gnome menu to my top panel, which is where I've added some quick launch icons and a weather widget and there wasn't an entry for k3b there either. I opened a terminal and t...

I'm replying, just because I'm looking for NFS assistance. It looks like that is the line for mounting the share in /etc/fstab (as opposed to the share info entered in /etc/exports).

[Solved] Updating Debian mirror URL

It appears that perhaps Debian changed their mirror structure, and I do have updates coming through mintupdate, but I get the following error when it attempts to update the file lists. I started getting the error last weekend and thought it would work itself out, but apparently it hasn't. First here...

Re: Newb needs help with Mint 9 Lxde!

ClaW, I'm very glad to hear it helps keep you from having to re-enter date and time every boot. I take it you are running Mint LXDE 9? Does it run reasonably? You use firefox? MDG Hi MDG, Actually, I came back to edit my previous post, but since you responded figured I'd do it as a reply. It actual...

Re: Newb needs help with Mint 9 Lxde!

Hexeta, as regards the powering off issue, you can try to force ACPI so your lappy shuts off. You will need to edit "grub" in the /etc/default directory (remember to right click Tools and choose "...administrator.." Change the line that reads GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" to GRUB CMDLINE LINUX="acpi=force"...

Re: Newb needs help with Mint 9 Lxde!

I have an IBM Thinkpad PIII on which I've installed Mint9 lxde on a dual-boot with Fedora 12. I likewise have an issue with Mint not shutting down properly and needing me to enter the date and time the next time I turn it on. Also neither hibernate or suspend work, but on mine sound does work. I tri...

Re: LMDE---Where are my bugs?

lol. I can very much relate, I installed LMDE and registered for the forum thinking I may need to ask some questions. Or maybe answer a question or 2. I even installed the bigmem kernel, and so far updates have been uneventful. I'm used to the Fedora configuration files and such, but I wanted someth...

Re: Can't Play DVDs in LMDE

This may or may not be helpful (and I'm new here...) but I've gotten somewhat used to fussing with these sorts of things in Fedora, so one of the first things I did when I installed LMDE was add my regular user to the cdrom group, and the audio group. When I saw this thread I decided to test a DVD, ...
