Re: Simple picture editor

If we were to follow your logic, then we should say that MS-Word is for professional writers only and mere mortals like you and me should be content with a much more simpler word processor like the built-in Windows Write. So, is that the reason why MS-Word (or MS-Office-whatever-version for that ma...

Too much Video Players by default

I am using LMDE, when you install the distro you can to find 4 Video Players by default:

- Gnome Player
- MPlayer
- Totem
- VLC

my questions is: ¿why? :?:

¿One is not enough? :?

Simple picture editor

Gimp is an alternative for Adobe Photosop and Corel PhotoPaint, so, I think is not necessary to include by default because is not for common users, would be good Pinta ( http://www.pinta-project.com ) o Nathive ( http://www.nathive.org/ )

Re: LMDE SpinX3 Wishlist

Ikey I'm not sure as to the size of LMDE, I don't even think size constraints have come to be mentioned yet but I think the idea is to make the software selection of LMDE as similar to Main as possible would be good to have LMDE in one LiveCD :P http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=67303...

Re: LibreOffice over OpenOffice.org

On Linux Mint 10 Julia is very easy, it is only to add PPA LibreOffice:

http://planetared.com/2011/01/libre-off ... ntu-10-10/

the real problem is LMDE because still LibreOffice is not in Debian Testing :( .. I do not want to merge repos of course because I can to use the same PPA

Re: Why LMDE on DVD ???

With all the goodies that come with Mint these days, it is getting harder and harder to pack all those extras in a single CD. You are going to see more and more distros moving towards a DVD instead of a CD. With LMDE, there were too many necessary packages, so a DVD was required. thanks for your re...

I do not know the reason why LMDE can not to be on CD :( .. the distro must come only with necessary software and the other can be installed of the repos
