Re: dual monitor, dual panel

I am very surprised that no one has been able to help me. This feature was brought in at Cinnamon 2,8.6 or 2,6 or there abouts. Even though it was developed here does no one know anything about it? Anyway I was able to work out that after adding the new panel it was a job to add the menu and calenda...

Re: Drive permissions

Thank you WharfRat, i typed those in manually to get the hang of it and it worked as you said, much appreciated. I have copied the instructions and kept a text file for future use, I don't know If the drive needs to be mounted at boot, but good to have that information as well. Cheers, regards beach...

Re: THE MINT CAFE

Yes thank you, I did change my password. Yes I did notice the change in the board.
Was just wondering about the colour as I can change colour on other boards. Anyway no big deal maybe further down the track they can give options for colour.
Thank you regards beachgardener.

Re: usb flash drive gets mounted read only

This happened to me today, all of a sudden usb sticks are read only, what? Anyway using 17.3 Cinnamon, tried various methods found on forum, to fix, but what worked was to take it to a windows 7 machine and delete partition, create new volume and choose slow format and fat32. This worked. Anyway I w...

Hello there, could you give me an example of how it is used and what that snapping thing would be used for? I find that I don't really understand it.
Thank you.

Re: 3 screens, one portrait

robim, thank for all your hard work experimenting. I shall go ahead with my plan, but, it might take a few weeks to get all the hardware (no point in purchasing if it wasn't going to work), i need to purchase a third screen and the Nvidia 750 graphic card, actually the Gygabyte versions of this card...

Re: Linux Mint 17 codenamed “Qiana”

Firstly thank you very much for LinuxMint 17 and the eventual on going upgrades for 17.1 and 17.2, much apprerciate your work. Now the Mint team can now provide their own kernel updates any time, for 16 and later releases. I see the kernel upgrades too, flagged as security updates, no worries, but i...

Re: Linux Mint 17 codenamed “Qiana”

Thank you for your replies, i am aware of those .directories for backing up, it does seem that a fresh install is still the best method and is what i have done in the past, just thought there might be an easier way, lets hope in future releases the upgrade could be smoother, cheers :) I must add a v...
