Re: Mark Shuttleworth, the idiot of the century
Both Shuttleworth and Jobs seem to be quite successful, then you've got these "experts" sitting at home calling them "idiots." Quite humorous. What exactly is Shuttleworth "successful" at again? Jobs is making a bucketload of cash with his OS, Shuttleworth has yet to d...

Re: Do you run Linux as your sole operating system?
Why would anybody want to clone such a useless product? Andrea Borman. A product is not deemed useless just because one or two people cannot use it. I am not certain but I don't think outlook was the first desktop mail client so really people didn't clone a "useless" product because deskt...

How about "Life Sucks and then you Die" by The Fools. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3alOx1z0hE Or "The Naked Highwayman" by Fairport Convention http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLNLOjKeqoE&playnext=1&list=PL49F8E30BE6B7BB41 and finally "The Worst Day Since Yesterday...

Re: can someone make...
It may not be necessary to compile anything, the first thing you need to do is check synaptic to see if its already in the repository Most software that you will download and need to compile should have fairly simple instructions on how to get it done. Basically just make sure you have the build-es...

Well,I don't know anybody else that can use Outlook Express and clones. Everybody that I know can't use it. So it's not just me. Andrea Borman. This topic is getting way off track, andrea im sure there is a better way to showcase your dislike for mail software. Perhaps a new thread so this "di...

Re: What makes you want to try Linux in the first place?
My reasons were two fold 1. Cost, a new version of windows will run you several hundred dollers. About half as much for an upgrade if your computer can even handle it. 2. Desire to learn, I got kind of tired of the "push the button get the pellet" windows experience, especially when the pe...

Re: Do you run Linux as your sole operating system?
Up until a few days ago I had to keep using Windows for 1 program, convertxtodvd. Since I have updated to Wine 1.3 it now works acceptably in LMDE, so my last reason for using that "other" os has now disappeared. Windows has left the building. Congratulations to you and to the wine ...

Re: Do you run Linux as your sole operating system?
No, it's not really bizarre. It can be very confusing to set up your mail account, if your client cannot detect your mail server settings, it's close to impossible for an average guy (like me) to set it up without instructions, forget a completely non-technical user. I still consider myself somewha...
