PowerPoint Presentations
I get 'pps' files emailed to me periodically. They would diligently execute with OpenOffice when clicked from the received email link. I recently re-installed Mint 9 to a new hard drive. Everything seems to be updated correctly. Now when I click on a pps link, i get this message: http://i.imgur.com/...

Re: Disk Check...Check ...still Checking [SOLVED]
I found that problem occurs on my systems if the disk check tries to complete under any newer kernel image. So when it gets stuck on the check, I restart the PC and select the original kernel image from GRUB. The scan completes without problem. Then on reboot the lockups are gone whichever kernel i...

Re: CPU's too active lately
I think I found the cause ... addon Flashgot after last update. When it would spike, processes would show Firefox - I think processes never show the addon directly tho. Bottom line - I removed Flashgot and system finally quieted down :/ Will wait a couple of days before adding [SOLVED] to title to m...

Search just led me to some unresolved answers. Check is every so boots and it just hangs there eternally.
I know this was always an issue with Isadora...but can this Disk Check feature be disabled ?

Don't see a hardware accelleration choice in this FF version... think it has something to do with the last firefox 3.66.22 update thru mint update.

Re: CPU's too active lately
no need to install 'htop' ...just typing 'top' in the terminal shows all processes - firefox-bin and xorg and python are usually the first 3.

CPU's too active lately
Been using Isadora 9 for over a year now. It is my primary OS. Recently I noticed that I'm getting very high cpu spikes especially when on Firefox. I believe the last couple of updates were for 'cups' and before that was something for 'Firefox' ... don't know if this is related. I will exit Firefox ...

Re: about audacity
I guess you can use all the above methods to get results. But... I record streaming sound from the internet from all sources and don't rely on any added features. Just plain Audacity is needed. This is how it works for me: Make sure 'Output Level Meter' is turned 'On' @ the drop down menu (see arrow...

Trash bin issue
After a year of using Mint 9, had to re-install everything. So far it's all reconfigured to the way I had it before. Exept: no trash bin. I used to have a functional one on the desktop. 1. tried to install one thru screenlets. It installs, but not visible on desktop (screenlets panel still shows as ...

Re: Wifi connection
Tried all above ... also reversed the 'Blacklisted' and still the same. Have you fully updated the Fluxbox version yet? no, since i can't connect. i wouldn't have pursued it unless i thought i had a bum disk burn - but all chsum and cd checks ok - os seems to be functioning fine too (except for this...
