no problem at all on that :) TBABill, the issue is with wifi usb - not ethernet connection. For virus prevention issues as you are describing above, one method i've used for running portables thru wine is by going to any one of the many free online scanning sites ... i usually drop the portable on the desktop first then direct the 'browse' feature at the site to where the application resid...

ok, can't believe it - but i have it working now ! :shock: too bad i didn't write all the trials and errors down. i ended up using an xp install in a virtualbox to configure the router on doze ...then after some resetting and fiddling with a connection that was not working, it finally came to life. ...
