If you want the recent files feature restored again...

Re: Disk Check at startup taking - forever ...
I let it sit there doing the disk check today ... 2 Hours !
Finally had to press 'C' since I had to use the computer.
Is this a known bug ? ...will it be resolved with the next release ?

Complete removal using Synaptic
I've noticed that the 'complete removal' feature doesn't remove folders for that application that are still listed in the Home folders. Are these folders with the old installations safe to remove ? ... would other file sections also contain files for these ? add: i tried 'deborphan' filter and clean...

Re: USB Ports in VirtualBox for Mint 9
OK, Installed the guest additions iso - which removed the virtualbox sun version and replaced it with 'ose' version ... went into xp and under devices and installed 'guest addtions' and re-booted. Now I don't see the usb listed as with the sun version (which usb wasn't working anyway) - but now I do...

Re: USB Ports in VirtualBox for Mint 9
I've done this same routine before and it's not working for me.
Just tried it again ... can configure usb manually thru vb but is asking for vendor name, ID, port, serial number ??? - xp loads up beautifully, but has no door to the outside world - would be great to get usb and printer connected.

Audacity Issue record what u hear [Solved]
I had been using audacity to 'record what I hear' for a long time with anaother distro. By clicking on the record button it would automatically record any sound being played on the system. However, with Mint I have not been able to get this same feature to work at all. Audacity is still functioning ...

Re: Why do new people give up on Linux?
I too started with dos back in the dark ages ...and remember thinking I would never switch to the new debutante on the block; 'Windows'. It took some time to master the Windows environment to the point of being able to tackle most problems that came along the way. In the past 2 years, I've experimen...

Re: Using PCLinux Live for Printer Maintenance
Yes, I have that installed... which lead me to search menus for it and found it there. Confusing with 3 entry avenues for printers and all different ! - added HPLIP ToolBox to 'favorites' on menu for safe keeping. BTW it works 100%
