Re: Page top truncated

Hi, Thanks for your reply :) Hope that A4 is not a problem, as I really need this ! I have A4 in the page settings of my document, and A4 for the printer... I'll try with Letter just to see, but I think that the problem should be in the footer rather than in the header of the page, no ? But why the ...

[SOLVED] Page top truncated

Hi, I re-installed my network printer (Samsung CLP 310) on my new Helena. This printer was working well with Felicia, but now the top of the pages is truncated :( I tried via ipp and smb, the result is strictly the same. I tried to use several PS printers, without any change... I'm surprised that th...

installing HP Officejet 6500 on Felicia

Hi, I followed this to install my Office jet 6500 on Felicia. I have a problem with step 6 (make install) : the script ./installer/fix_symlink.py does not exists ! Is there a way to solve that ? I suppose that this printer is now fully supported in Helena, but I should prefer to not upgrade immediat...

Re: Installation d'imprimante distante IPP

[RESOLU] Installation d'imprimante distante IPP

Re: Some basic doc as post-it in this forum please...

Hi, Thanks, Husse. Yes, I can imagine that you are very busy on more important things. Who could help for that ? Could be just some replies in this topic or the french one : it could already help a lot of people. Could also be a good start for a better doc later... If everybody knowing even just a l...

Some basic doc as post-it in this forum please...

Hi, I cannot find any useful doc about Mint Menu. I think that some explanations could be given in a "post it" or "announcement" topic in this forum : could be useful for a lot of people I think... - How to add entries in Mint Menu so that it's visible or invisible for other users (invisible by defa...

Re: Loosing network config after a shutdown...

Hi, Thanks, Fornhamfred :D I installed Wicd and it's Ok now. Seems not good for VPN, but I have none. This post is useful to install Wicp, as well as this document page and this other one (sorry, I'm French and did not look for English pages !) I still have a problem with public key after I added th...

Re: Linux Mint 6 x64 released!

Yes, but what about /etc/ config files ? Most of them are text files... Let's say : I save my /home and my /etc, reinstall totally, and put back my /home and /etc. I should retrieve the same (supposing I re-installed all packages) as what I had before, just with a 64 bits system instead of my old 32...

Re: Linux Mint 6 x64 released!

Sorry, you will need a fresh install to have the 64 bit Edition. I have never seen an upgrade path from 32 to 64 bit. Yes, I was afraid of that... However, I think that there is a way to loose as less as possible of the tweakings, saving the config files. But I'am afraid of 2 things doing that : - ...

Loosing network config after a shutdown...

Hi, I just installed Felicia on my new laptop. I can configure the network and it's working well, but after a reboot I retrieve the default config... I need a fixed IP address on my cable network, with wifi disabled. I can get it, and it's working well (can ping my laptop with the right IP address f...

Re: X disconnections

Hi, Yes, sometimes strange things are just due to a bad CD. But : - I checked the md5 sum before burning, - I already installed another Elyssa with the same CD and it works properly True that I burnt my CD at the maximum speed, but I think that it's not the reason of the problem here... Another idea ?

X disconnections

Hi, I have a problem with Elyssa that I just installed on a new computer : If I leave the computer for a little time, I retrieve it showing the gdm connection window... No idea from where it comes (I suspect the screen saver, but it's not sure at all... Just because I saw some disconnections after a...

Re: Second graphic card not detected

Finally, I found a good solution, with totally independant screens :D Here is my xorg.conf (I did nothing more than adjusting it) : # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file) # # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using # values from the debconf d...

Hi, I need 2 screens, and installed a second graphic card on my computer. But when I installed Elyssa, only the onboard graphic interface was detected. I can get my second graphic card working if I modify xorg.conf, but I can't find a way to have the 2 screens working properly... Here is my config :...
