Doruletz, I wish all the tutorials were as easy and straight forward as you have made this one. Everything worked beautiful, my web cam is now up and running on skype and is working with Firefox as well, just had to put Firefox in the 'application to use line' Works with Google Chat and Chat Ruelett...

webcam driver needed [SOLVED]

I'm using Mint 9 Gnome running on a core 2 duo. I have a Gearhead webcam, model WC535I. Cheese has no problem with the cam, works great. Other applications can not see the cam, Google, Chatroulette, Skype... I have googled the issue but can't find an answer, can someone point me in the right directi...

That was the first thing I tried, and the resolution drop down was not there. After I rebooted the drop down showed up in the monitor control, not sure why it was not there to start with. Thank you for the help.

Thank you again for the help and the explanation. I've been using microsoft since the early days of dos, Mint is a refreshing change. I first installed Ubuntu about two months ago but was just not sold, Mint is what I wanted from Ubuntu, thanks.

The entire bar is gone, no menu, no task icons, no clock, just more desktop space.
