Re: My Wallpapers

Lol Thanks Brahim. All you have to do is go to the page in question, click on the image till it pops up in full size (about twice). Right click the full size image, and Save Image As. I post all of my walls at full size on Deviantart. As such, there is no real need for a "Download" button. But here ...

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

Don't forget the jitter on the system menu's. That issue seems to be present in about half the themes for cinnamon. I know glass 2 (along with several others) fixes it but I haven't figured out exactly what they did yet.

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

Not really Gmc. Specifically what does the ripple image do. I know i just used one from another theme in rosewood and didn't edit anything in that section.

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

Thanks Caribriz. I had to come up with that method on the fly as I didn't actually have a good method other then changing computers to my old LM9 setup with its gimp. The downloadable script works in that version. In reality I would prefer to have those scripts again.

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

nice work Caribriz. especially with the scaling. Here is a trick I had to work out on the bevel, because gimps basic bevel function leaves an annoying diagonal line in the corners of many images. using Raindrops.jpg make a second transparent layer Layer/New Layer, Click on the color box and set the ...

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

which is why I am Not fond of that particular function of the Mint Main Menu. I would bet though that you can add a Slider function to it and fix that issue globally.

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Notifications

to theme the notifications use the exact same procedure as outlined in http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=155400 , except in the notifications section. A good thing to do thematically is to have the notifications match the tooltips. so If you give one a specific background image, do t...

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

ok the canvas/layer thing is to make sure the horizontal size is correct. If you just use a "Flat Image" without any" enhancements, a close enough size is fine, though you don't add the stretch to the border-image/background-image line. On the other hand, if you say add the bevel like I do it has to...

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

Thats all there is to it. you can use background-image instead of border image in most versions of cinnamon, but it doesn't work right in LM14. border-image always works. up to LM16. That may change in later versions.

Re: How To Theme The Cinnamon Main Menu Colors

Austin, you may have went a little overboard  These posts don't really have much room for discussion. That said I just chose one. After all I was the one who said we would come.' When Theming the Main Menu, One should first and foremost Chose a good graphic for the background. This goes for qui...

Re: Polished Oak Theme.

Welcome Gmc. Neat theme Btw. Austin you are of course right. The beginner generally doesn't want to Build the Engine, But he would definitely like to Modify the exterior. In fact that was one of the first things I did in the old Redhat 7 days. Took me days to figure out which graphics to change to g...

Ok Brahim pick a spot to post all of your themes. Use the "Themes - CinnamonThemes-Team" Post If you like, or do your own specific theme page. Oh and good job.

Re: Polished Oak Theme.

hmmm possibly a solution to this conundrum is to make 3 parts. One for the absolute basics of Color and Resource Manipulation. One for more intermediate subjects. and one dealing with Various Effects and Other more advanced matters. I do agree that we need to move beyond the Dryad Theme. While its a...

Re: Polished Oak Theme.

the Cinnamon theme is fine, No big issue there. I do agree on splitting The tutorial into two parts. Changing Color and Base Image's should be the first, as those are the simplest. Not sure about the second. Oh and I wasn't talking about us writing a specific theme for the tutorial. I was talking ab...
