Re: Xfce Bubble Notification Font Changing

xfce4-notifyd-config command will let you change the appearance but I found no way to change the font.

Re: Add a HOT Key to lauch Whisker Menu in XFCE

I did as directed but command from CLI is xfce4-popup-whiskermenu so the keyboard shortcut doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Re: Atheros wireless is working but syslog fills with errors

Thank you hal8000 for your quick reply. I just checked the syslog and it was over 70mb.
I will wait patiently for a fix.
Thanks again.

Atheros wireless is working but syslog fills with errors?

I have Linux Mint Olivia, upgraded from Nadia about 3mos ago, and have not had any problems. Well I decided to look in the System Logs and found that Syslog has this error: Sep 12 20:06:21 ajax-Satellite-L355 kernel: [14385.004873] ath5k: ath5k_hw_get_isr: ISR: 0x00000080 IMR: 0x00000000 over and ov...

That's good to hear, too bad you had to do a reintstall.
No problem in not closing the thread, I hadn't been here in a while.

Re: Installed Gnome and Stuck in a Black screen with Mouse P

I had a similar problem. When you get to the Login screen press the 'white dot' above your Username (in your case it might have the 'Gnome foot'), then choose the Cinnamon login. LightDM doesn't display a Session option.

That should get you going temporarily until you figure out what went wrong.

Re: Anyone tried Gnome3 lately ?

I originally started with Linux Mint XFCE Nadia. I upgraded to Olivia and all was well. Well I got interested in trying Gnome 3, 3.8 to be exact. I added the PPA and installed. Works perfectly. No problems at all. I messed up one time and just logged into Xfce session and reinstalled the packages an...

Cannot login as root on Olivia

When I attempt to login as root, I have set the Login Window > Security > allow local administrator (Checked), I get the message about cannot load/start Ubuntu session. I have to say this, I have Debian Wheezy installed using the same Home directory and it all works, no problems. Just this one thing...

Cinnamon starting when not installed

OK, call me crazy, but I removed what I thought was all references to Cinnamon via Synaptic and terminal in my HOME folder. However, when I login the .xsession-errors file still reports that Cinnamon started as follows: ** (nemo:4008): WARNING **: Can not determine workarea, guessing at layout JS LO...

Re: hddtemp - no /dev/sda

I know you will think I am out of my mind, gone bananas, berserk or whatever, but I decided to reboot and see what the /dev/sd? was and it was /dev/sda. I rebooted and now everything is back to normal. Could someone explain what the heck happened, cause I am totally confused. I mean if Nadia was on ...

hddtemp - no /dev/sda

I have a conky script that reports disk temp's. Well I noticed that it was displaying temps. I had Debian 7 installed (before I borked it): In .conky Disk temp: ${alignr}${exec hddtemp -u f /dev/sda | cut -d':' -f3} ${alignr}${exec hddtemp /dev/sda | cut -d':' -f3} and nothing is displayed except th...

I know this an old post, but, I had the same problem with running Nightly.
You have to Edit Preferences and go to Attachments and scroll down to http and https and click the down arrow and choose there.

Re: start-up screen

If you are referring to the Grub timeout you can edit /etc/default/grub and on line 9 is the

GRUB_TIMEOUT=30 (I believe the default is 5)

Change it to 0
then

update-grub

Re: Desktop font colour

You might try this; Open up gedit, medit, pluma or whatever your editor is and paste this into it # File created by KDE Gtk Config # Configs for GTK2 programs include "/usr/share/themes/greybird/xfce-notify-4.0/gtkrc" style "user-font" { font_name="FreeSans" } widget_class "*" style "user-font" gtk-...
