Re: SWF to HTML5 or Other Video

Well I think I'm going to be able to get the working .FLV from the agency which *should* work in FFMPEG (I'm a bit concerned since I know they used an add-on / toolkit for the animation). Everything should be good but for future reference I would love to know if something actually exists to convert ...

SWF to HTML5 or Other Video

Hello folks - For some reason I'm unable to get to SmokeScreen.us which I'd read had some open source resources in porting .SWF files to the HTML5 canvas. I'm looking for any recommendations on software that might convert .SWF (not .FLV) to video. I know how to use video in HTML5 so for now I'd be f...

Re: The Tech Brands You Can Trust

I use Hitachi for all my HDD replacements and custom boxes. Decent RMA program with three year coverage should the part actually fail. Naturally I'm recommending them because they typically don't. The only issue is should a drive fail they don't provide any packaging to send the drive to them and (a...

Re: Enough of this already

Hundreds of questions in one thread versus hundreds of threads in one forum? It would be easier for you to read one thread while people take numbered questions and answer them. It would also be easier for anybody else who wishes to use this area of the forum.

Re: Enough of this already

Well suppose I give you the benefit of the doubt. Why not make 1 thread with all of your questions? Or finding other threads with appropriate topics to ask your miscellaneous life questions?

Yeah I realize that, ha. It'd be fun. It was definitely DOS with some great games on that machine though. Wolfenstein, TMNT, Monster Bash. Good times.

Re: My oldest PC running Mint

My first computer was an AST CUPID tower I think. I've got it lying around in my garage somewhere I got it when I was 5 or 6 years old ha. Though I'm not sure it could run anything anymore at 33MHz.

Re: Forum Membership Ranks/Levels, Why?

I don't really have any problem being told with a graphic how active people are in a message board community. It's how most of these online forums work. At the very least it just lets you know how devoted they are to this site, which by most accounts means they are probably pretty devoted to Linux M...

Re: What song are you listening to at the moment?

A message for those who like internet radio: When I'm coding I love to listen to the Drone Zone and Groove Salad channels SomaFM. They are sort of down tempo ambient electronic stations. Drone Zone is more ambient while Groove Salad has more of a beat (for those unfamiliar with the radio station). G...

Re: Dear Santa

Like a "secret pal" gift swap kinda thing! That would be very cool and lots of fun. In fact it could even become a fund raiser for the Mint project (or any other worthwhile cause). -R Definitely something to think about for next year as far as the Gift Swap idea goes. On a completely unre...

Re: Enough of this already

I stand properly chastened before all you pious pontificators who just want to help poor brawnypandora0 in his oh so innocent and noble quest for deeper knowledge of the minutiae of Linux computing. <end sarcasm> Ha, good stuff right there. I'm relatively new to the community / LM and wasn't sure i...

Re: What computer media do you read?

I'm surprised nobody's said this yet. It's the latest issue from Linux Identity, available in some news stands but my friend told me Barnes & Noble carries it. It is out of stock on Linux Identity's site, so you might want to get to searching! :D http://www.linuxidentity.com/us/shop/images/uploa...

Re: Dear Santa

Oh no I was just saying my general list for this year. In the post I wrote we could organize something for next year. I said this year there wasn't enough time to get people to sign up, distribute names, etc. I was just showing everyone what I was hoping to get this year (and will likely buy myself)...

Re: Dear Santa

This would be a cool thread to put a Linux Mint User Secret Santa list. It's already into November so there's not much time to prepare, but perhaps next year we could get something organized, make a $15-20 limit and have some fun. This year at least it would be interesting to see everyone else's lis...

Introduction: New to LM!

Hi everybody, Not new to Linux, GNOME or forums but I am new to Linux Mint. I must say I am really glad I decided to go with LM9 over Ubuntu's NRE on my HP Mini. This distro has been really great for me the past few weeks. Not that it has much to do anything at all with the usability, but it is a ni...
