Alternately,

Exec=opera %U --new-window --start-maximized

Exec=opera %U --private --start-maximized

Re: trouble with correct syntax in GREP

Close Opera.

Try this slight variation in /usr/share/applications/opera.desktop

Code: Select all

[Desktop Action NewWindow]
...
Exec=opera %U --new-window
...
[Desktop Action NewPrivateWindow]
...
Exec=opera %U --private
Start Opera and see what's what.

Re: trouble with correct syntax in GREP

I'd look in ~/.local/share/applications/ directly first. "Launchers" on panels utilize Exec= same as everything else I've seen GUI'fied that does "stuff", so Exec= is found in .desktop files find `pwd` -iname '*.desktop' -type f -exec grep -i "Exec\=opera \%U" {} -l \; # 'tis an el do anything for y...

I'm not mad. I was just asking questions because I did not understand your message. Sorry if you thought I was mad. I have installed linux mint a number of times, Xfce, Mint, and KDE and I have been meaning to ask this question for a long time but it seems that I always forget about it. When Mint is nearly to the end of installing to the hard drive, it pauses to ask a question about a configuration file ( I can'...
