Re: Mark Shuttleworth, the idiot of the century
Mister Shuttleworth has done more to bring Linux to "ordinary users" like me than just about anyone. He "tamed" Debian for us technically challenged folks and gave it away. He's the reason alot of people now enjoy Debian's awesomeness when it was out of reach for us before. And ...

Re: Donations
Can anyone help with the sponsor form? I'd like to pay from my debit card but the form still requires PayPal details. Am I missing something? On the first form you will see this button: "Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue" This th...

Re: Donations
Signed up via PP, but maybe if anyone from the team stops by here they could let us know if it is possible to pay by other means.
The form shows bank details but the pay by PP still seems to have to be checked.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Thanks Mmesantos I liked it and it continues with a spiral theme I'm on. Sorry Dante, I guess it goes to show you can't please all the people all the time... I'll keep trying though. Its the evolution that's exciting, not the final destination ;) I never said I didn't like it I didn't take it that ...

Re: Help compiling Insight3D
Many thanks for the link, I had found another thread in the Ubuntu forums with some info but mainly it was just people just struggling as I am.
I'll read through carefully and have another go, I don't mind getting stuck into the command line

Re: Input from those who use electric shavers (facial hair)
Tried a foil razor once and it tore my face to shreds.
Before and after I've always wet shaved (it's a closer shave too)...

Re: Thanks a bunch
Grrrrrrrrr, I know the feeling. I'm running Mint 10 Gnome and really want to switch to LMDE or KDE but everything is set up and working well. Apart from some undefinable "need" to switch to another version I really can't justify the transition. I wish something would break just to give me...

Heh Mander, Welcome.
The support here is excellent, but it's worth remembering that you can still use the Ubuntu forums if you need help.

Panasonic DMC FZ28, 45 both work well (no setting up required).
I guess that most of the Panasonic cameras will work out of the box

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Cheers! The more I learn the less laborious creating new work becomes. I'm sure that if it currently takes me 20 steps to create an image it could be done in 10 (but that's way better than the 40 or so it would have taken me a week ago)! I was looking at having a go at the new Mint logo but some of ...

Re: THE MINT CAFE
Please, no more talk about Root Beer.
Since McD's stopped doing it (late 80's I think) it's been nigh on impossible to get it in the UK.
It can be got on ebay but it's shockingly expensive!
I love the stuff too!
