Re: desktop resizes or scales too large

I just tried this on Mate, does the same thing. Have to restart to get the display back to normal.

I'm using a ZBOX ID84. Has a GEForce nvidia gt520m. Maybe it's something to do with the nvidia video gpu driver?

Re: Really, where is the screensaver?

I wasn't particularly interested in eyecandy per se. I was just wanting to get the screen-saver to work and to locate where the settings for it are. To switch from Cinnamon to KDE, is this a big deal or can I just download an upgrade with out fear of crashing the system? I'd hate to have to backup a...

desktop resizes or scales too large

I'm using the Cinnamon 2013. In system settings I set the font scale factor to 1.4. Now the fonts are easier to read. In panel settings I set the panel to a height of 40 and set the auto scale for the icons & text to adjust automatically. Everything looks pretty nice! I come back to the system an ho...

Really, where is the screensaver? [SOLVED,sort of]

2013 cinnamon. Synaptic says it's installed, but where is it? And how come the neat Hubble pictures that used to be the default savers in older ubuntu versions aren't included anymore?

Re: Welcome Screen is stuck on top

I think it's been solved. The last few times I've done installs, the Welcome screen still stays on top of whatever, but the close button functions now. Thanks!

Re: How can I remove desktop icons?

Do you know how to use the Dolphin file manager? Open that and delete the files from there. If they do not appear, check to see if they are hidden. The Desktop is a subfolder of Home. All of the files in folder Desktop should appear on the Desktop as well as in the Dolphin file manager. If you are ...

Re: ZOTAC mini PC zbox-id84-plus

Hey thanks!, Just tried the 7th time to re-install this OS and it found and installed the right nvidia driver on it's own. Well, once I went to the driver manager and chose the right driver. Couldn't read the nvidia driver presented so I had chosen the wrong other drivers suggested. This last time t...

Re: auto login not working

I've looked through every preference, administration and system setting I can find. The only one that seems to have
anything to do with login is in the user account settings. I turned the autologin box from off to on. Does not appear to make a difference. After boot-up, I still have to login.

ZOTAC mini PC zbox-id84-plus [SOLVED]

Unit seems to run OK from the thumb drive with cinnamon LMDE 64-bit. After install, the graphics complain about no hardware acceleration and unit goes into software rendering mode, and then problems get worse after trying to get hardware drivers. What driver should I use? 32-bit install, leaves the ...

resizing icons in panel & desktop, HOW? [SOLVED]

Using LM201303. Just replaced w7 on a Dell Inspirion with LM. No going back. Default size is just too small. Mostly it's the panel. I can't find where to adjust the size of the icons and the font in the panel. Adjusting the size of the panel does not change the size of the icons in the panel. (right...

Re: Installing on two Drives ?

Well, I'll try this. But big question in my little brain is: wasn't raid intended for equal sized drives? I have 1 standard type HDD that's 500gb(slow laptop variety) and 1 SSD drive 32gb (that's virtually supersonic in comparison by speeds). How's this going to work as a raid?

Re: Installing on two Drives ?

Am trying to follow this but am having trouble. I have a Toshiba Satellite U840. It has a 30gb ssd for sdb and a 500gb for sda. I just installed 2013 64-bit onto it and chose sdb as my / and boot, as such the installer would not let me choose sda for anything, so now sda shows up as an extra hddrive...
