Re: LMDE install with encrypted partitions or resizable volu

short answer: Make a LMDE LiveUSB and then retry. long answer: I am getting a error when running the script about not being in the live environment. I am running it from within the live CD. Unfortunately, "live" has 2 meanings in this context--sorta like "bandaid," which generally/colloquially refe...

Debian=8.2 breaks LMDE2 {Cinnamon, default WM}: how to fix?

Apologies if this is spam, but it was unclear to me if I should post this problem in an LMDE2/Betsy forum (which has no Cinnamon subforum) or here, so I posted there . To summarize (for details, see link): * From Thursday (3 Sep) until this morning (6 Sep) my main/production laptop was up-to-date on...

why our docs should be VCed

The community and blog installation UP8 instructions should be updated with the same step. in Xfce make sure "thunar-volman" is installed. Then run thunar and in the menu bar: Edit -> Preferences -> "Advanced" tab make sure "Enable Volume Management" is enabled. Then click "Configure". `udisksd`: automounts from ISO, but not from local install?

On LM17.2 and Debian [`/etc/grub.d/10_linux`] creates submenus whereas LMDE2 does not. Re: boottime debugging

When you next boot and get to tty1, don't login. Try ctrl+alt+F7 to see if the MDM login screen is hiding there. If not try ctrl+alt+F8. If not ctrl+alt+F1 will get you back to tty1. I tried C-A-F7 before, but not C-A-F8. Unfortunately, only C-A-F[1-6] work (to switch between tty[1-6]) at boottime:...
