Re: Permanently Change Cinnamon Mouse Cursor Themes

Is there a way to permanently change the mouse cursor theme? I have researched this for hours and haven't found an answer. I removed DMZ-white and DMZ-black folders from usr/share/themes and that got the new theme working until the next time I log in. Each time I log in I have to open Cinnamon Sett...

Re: USB stick not found on my computer

Check your BIOS at startup to see which order things are opened. Might need to change the order to get USB first. How did you set up grub for the stick? Did it ever work with edubuntu on it? Many questions. Which desktop are you using on Mint 13?

Re: Getting other Desktops in LinuxMint 13

I was just told by Update Manager that I had new software that I went to install. It immediately raised a window that said I had 1 broken package on my system. I was told to use the Broken filter to find it. What does that mean? Hmn, this should be in a thread of it's own. Open Synaptic Package Man...

Re: Where/how to search for cause of problems?

Using an external HD is about as easy as using a USB Stick, just make sure you set up Grub properly. Some computers do not recognize other systems on externals because the external is not mounted at startup. I have read about it, but do not use it, so, I don't have any solutions for any problems tha...

Re: Where/how to search for cause of problems?

Start where you are now, using key words do a search in the forums. You will find not only other people with your problems, but, solutions and how to go about finding them. Sometimes updates do cause problems and other times they repair problems. If you want to leave Linux Mint on that computer you ...

Re: Getting other Desktops in LinuxMint 13

Cinnamon and Mate are variations of Gnome, so most of those extra parts are already there. KDE has always been heavy with lots of files and different applications. You can install KDE over your other desktop and switch at login.

Re: Cairo Dock hides behind windows on mint 13 XFCE

I know how to get the screen shot, you just set timer after raising bottom of whatever Application you are running. It could be a 32 bit issue, suggest you go to Cairo Dock site and report it at http://glx-dock.org/ They also have a Forum you can join. My example of timed screen shot:

Re: LM13 XFCE - no Sound

My apology, did a little online translating. It appears you may be using pulse when your computer is set up for Alsa Mixer. Try changing the setting at the top of the menu when clicking on the speaker Icon. See attached for my settings.

Re: Xfce Desktop Application Icons

I used Cairo-dock as an example. One that takes fewer resources is simdock, or you could use a second Panel and create your own. Also, some people like Dockey and the Avant Window Manager. Versatility is the name of the game. They are all in Synaptic Package Manager. Search dock.

Re: Xfce Desktop Application Icons

I would suggest you use one of the Docks like Cairo-Dock. You can not only control the size and other things in the Icons, you can place it where you want it or even have it hidden until you hover your Cursor over the area. I understand some people still use the way Windows was set up, but the Linux...
