You might check your BIOS to see which comes first, USB, CD/DVD or HD.

Re: ARRGHH!! Why did you ruin mint?!?!

Before you download, before you burn a disk, read the documentation. This is not the first we heard about Gnome 3 or Mate. Don't blame the Distro for the Desktop, it was your choice when you downloaded it.

You need the fglrx-driver for ATI Graphics card. Find it in Synaptic.

Re: Generally - WHY

Maybe it is to let windows folks feel right at home with a screen covered with icons and no room for a decent wallpaper? I have to agree with shawnhcorey, people are drawn to what they are used to and if it is the look and feel of a touch screen then that is what the gravitate to. Personally a nice ...

Re: So....Anyone Occupying anything?

Mr. Dragon, let me say this: I support troops. I absolutely do NOT support any war for any reason. Especially the #1 reason historically..... but that's another discussion I didn't ask to be put in a war, but. I was there, neither did I support the war, I served the people who created it. We all kn...

I find it interesting that you chose me as the subject of your discussion rather than the theme of this Thread. Are you a PHD in Psychology? Call it venting or anger, there are many terms for it including PTSD or forty six years of BS piled up from ppl and Gov, My medals meant nothing, with them and...

Re: So....Anyone Occupying anything?

From what I've read there are two sides to every story. I think they have had their say and should get on with their lives while you seem to think this can go on forever. We both think there should be no arrests, but, for different reasons. Seems like the newspapers are the only people making anythi...

Re: So....Anyone Occupying anything?

(I love how people who are prone to dishing out insults completely miss when something is rhetorical. * whoosh *) I'll put that one right next to the "get a job" insult. Yeah. If you aren't offering a job, then you have no right to use that insult. "you want a sacrifice find a lamb" <-- :o Is this ...

Re: Don't prompt for password after resume from standby

I just installed Mint 12 RC. I have disabled the prompt for password when the screen saver comes on after 10 minutes in the settings. However, when I suspend my computer and then resume it, it is still asking me for a password. How can I disable that? Check your Power Manager and see if there is an...

Re: Wally doesn't work.

I downloaded and installed the 64-bit Wally .deb from http://www.becrux.com/index.php?page=projects&name=wally. When I ran the program, it showed a splash screen and there was a bubble saying something like "right-click here to show menu" on the desktop, but nothing happened when I did, and I could...

Woah! Nobody is raping and pillaging here. Im not sure where that came from. I guess you don't read the news. Too busy taking pictures? Who instigates the riots that cause police to get involved in the first place? I'm not buying it, they do not take the initiative except following orders to clear ...

Go directly to the XBMC Download Site. Choose Linux and depending on whether you are using Linux Mint 11 or LMDE follow the instructions. Note for LMDE (Debian) it gives you a link to place in your Software sources.

After seeing the Protests, my welcome home twice from Chu Lai and Danang Viet Nam, I sit quietly at home and protest by voting for the other guy. Re: Transparent image viewer?

Try GIMP, here is an illustration: Well... Thank you? Getting transparent images is not my problem. It's displaying them as transparent overlays that is. My thoughts along this line was to use Gimp not only to create the image, but, to work from the image within Gimp. With Gimp you can work with la...
