Re: Dual Monitor Nvida setup is missing menus in Mint 12

Also, I think the resolution you set is per screen, and not what is needed to cover the whole of three screens. The twinview or whatnot is supposed to handle that internally somehow. (RE: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7386704@N0 ... /lightbox/ )

bump

I would rather not have to go to XFCE. I would rather find a solution with this.

Re: Wierd GTK Murrine Theme Glitch:

What do you think the time frame is for the Mint repositories to be updated? Is this a few days, or a few months?

Re: Dual Monitor Nvida setup is missing menus in Mint 12

This is frustrating. After trying to alter my xorg.conf and setup a number of ways, it is almost like Mint is ignoring the file altogether. Here is my /.nvidia-settings-rc if anyone can spot something else out of place. # # /home/bigmike/.nvidia-settings-rc # # Configuration file for nvidia-settings...

Re: Dual Monitor Nvida setup is missing menus in Mint 12

So would this be an issue with the driver, the formatting of the xorg.conf file, or is this a Gnome 3 issue? I have had partial success with Mate, but I really would rather have Gnome 3 running full tilt, and all proper if possible.

Re: Using the windows key to open mint menu?

So, if I have that right.. The normal behavior is to press the control key, and then at the same time to press the left windows button (Super L)? I tried that and it did not open the mint menu in Mate. Am I off here on what I press somehow?

Re: Join the Folding@Home cause. Join Team Linux Mint!(7614

Looks like awhile back Folding@Home was able to be run from BOINC. Not sure if that is still true now though. It would be nice because BOINC lets you participate in multiple projects at once. I have a dual core processor machine. While one processor works on one project, the other handles a differen...

Using different micro/mini USB chargers

I have a Kindle Fire tablet with a charger, and an LG Axis phone with charger. Both seem to be a micro (?or mini?) USB cable on the end of the charger. They each can plug into both chargers. Ok, my noobish question. Is it OK to switch chargers interchangeably between phone and tablet? Is it possibly...

Re: So....Anyone Occupying anything?

I am up in Alaska. Something kinda odd was spun off of the "Occupy Wallstreet" movement. They kinda took an rather bright spin-off of the idea. Someone created the challenge to "Occupy Tsalteshi Trails", which are cross country (nordic) ski trails. Now to clarify, they are not suggesting to sit in a...

An Art/Wallpaper Challenge? A bit of Minty Nautilus.

I am not sure if this is the right spot to post, but here goes. In the Mint Cafe area http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=829 user npap made a side comment/joke about how you shouldn't install a real live Nautilus onto your Linux Mint computer (you should install the software). After re...

Re: THE MINT CAFE

I got a good chuckle about someone literally installing a real live nautilus on their Linux Mint computer. To be honest that would make a good art challenge. Hmmm... I wonder if posting challenges would be appropriate for the art section of the forums. I might go over and take a peek.

Re: Dual monitor problem Mint 12 nVidia driver

After I used the new xorg.conf some programs failed to load the right theme. But both monitors are working. Afterwards I deleted the "monitors.xml" in ~/.config . Now everything works fine. Maybe this would have already solved the problem. Where is this "monitors.xml" you speak of. I looked in my h...

<SOLVED> Dual Monitor Nvida setup is missing menus in Mint12

I just did a fresh install of Mint 12 on my old system. I have a dual monitor setup with two different sized monitors run from a Biostar 8200 board with Nvidia GeForce graphics. I was able to get it to work just fine in Mint 10. I have the same settings but with the new Nvidia drivers (280 vs. 260)....

Missing Vmlinuz. Help?

I am running the main version of Mint (Julia) on a USB live drive. Kept having problems upgrading software and tracked it back to the vmlinuz file missing from the /boot file. The error I found was from the vmlinuz link in the / folder, and then verified that it was missing from /boot. :( The error ...

How about someone actually tell Hulu to program that check for Linux Mint? It is a tiny little fix for them to do.

Re: LM 10 and Boxee

Isn't there some way that Linux Mint, could get Boxee to use (and acknowledge) mint-flashplugin??? Some way we could communicate to Boxee or the repository overlords to use that as the flash plugin, without having to download another one? Maybe the Linux Mint team could send Boxee a Mint Flavor ice ...
