Re: Opening jpg ( J peg ) photo files

You could try Gimp, Shotwell, Gthumb, Digikam or Picassa and one or two others I can't think of at the moment.

Re: Fresh install SSD partitions?

I just do an auto install in the first place, then remove and install selected software and remaster the distro to a custom install .iso image and use that for subsequent installs. I never optimise anything for ssd, suppose I should really but never bother and never have issues.

Re: wireless problem on Dell Inspirion 1525 Notebook

Did you get two options, I picked the one that did not refer to FWCutter. On my latitude at mo, will go get inspiron and check.

Inspiron using Broadcom STA proprietary wireless driver for BCM4311-4312-4321 and 4322 base hardware.

If you still have no luck, stick an Intel in it like latitudes.

Re: wireless problem on Dell Inspirion 1525 Notebook

With my Inspiron 1520 wifi problem, I went to control panel and clicked on Hardware Drivers and it went on net through ethernet and got correct driver and installed it and activated it all on it's own. That was a Broadcom chipset driver.

Samba on Linux no problem. Ubuntu in beta not recommended.

Re: Why is Linux Mint so difficult?

If I want to install a new OS (Windows, Linux or Unix) on my Dell Latitude I have to remove one of my 4gb ram sticks and then refit afterwards. I have problems with the install otherwise, took me ages to work out what was wrong.

Re: Connecting my Samsung Galaxy Nexus

FYI : the galaxy nexus is a "google phone" which means no touchwizz, sense or any other specific interface.
On android 4.0 no USB mass storage connexion type anymore. Only PTP or MTP.

Thanks
