Controlling screen brightness on laptop.
Samsung r480 laptop. Linux Mint 13 KDE :D The Fn keys for the brightness do not work. I am using this workaround: sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 F4.b=XX. The XX is the level of brightness; 0 being the darkest, 100 brightest. I normally have it at 25. If I reboot or sleep the laptop, it will go to a default ...

Re: Correct Epson Ink Levels in Mint7 with MTink (SOLVED)
I installed mtink, and am part of lp group. When I run mtink, it says "Error No Access to printer device file." I click OK but it shows all ink levels empty. When I click on Preferences says, "choose browser" a radio box for "Mini Help", another for "Allow automati...

Re: Why I love Linux Mint
I'd like to add to the list of things why i love this OS is not having to worry about viruses. yeah, it kinda bugs me that Netflix doesn't work on our Linux machines. LibreOffice is really great. a lot of great stuff. the mintube player thing is cool, among other cool stuff.

Re: Which GPU to pick for Linux Mint?
I think this happens because you don't yet have the driver installed - you should be able to work around it by booting with nomodeset (hold shift to see Grub bootloader, then press e to edit and add nomodeset at the end of the next-to-last line). But miteymitey presumably still has the driver of hi...

Re: Epson Stylus NX420 network printing?
So I found the solution on www.linuxquestions.org. I tried just about everything except for this. Anyway, here is the link if anyone else needs network printing.

Re: Which GPU to pick for Linux Mint?
I have the 550Ti and I cannot get it to work. I get a bunch of error messages or blank screens or both. I might be doing something wrong though. I'm not sure. for now I'm using the integrated graphics from the i7-2600 until I figure it out.

Re: Mint12 "/usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf failed"
i am not sure if this will help or not, but it helped me when i was setting up my epson priner. I installed a package called mtink. In the software manager, type in mtink and download and install it. I think its only for epson printers.
