The package opera-stable_65.0.3467.48_amd64.deb indicates it's for the x86_64 architecture which is the 64-bit version of the x86 instruction set.

Yes, that does sound like a problem with fstab,

In emergency mode the partition is mounted read only so to be able to edit fstab you'll have to run sudo mount -vo remount,rw / first.

In addition if it does need an fsck you can't do it from emergency - run fsck from the installation media.

You can use a variation of the command used to determine iv vb was installed toy remove it
