Re: How do I mess with someone on my wireless network?

Many (most?) street people have mental illnesses and are not capable of living the way we might want them to. I usually introduce myself, shake their hand, chat with them for a few minutes, then give them a few bucks and move on. I also have the addresses and phone numbers of all the shelters and s...

Re: How do I mess with someone on my wireless network?

You won't like this: or he'll punch you and you'll get sympathy from your family, who'll then see him for what he is... win win ;) I'm one of the few that has been in this situation more then a few times and dealt with it, my own harsh way by showing them the door. But it's not easy. I love your lo...

Re: How do I mess with someone on my wireless network?

To be honest if it was me and the freeloader refused to move I would cut off the internet and tell him to go get a job to pay for his own, I would also give a moving date to urge him along and if it goes past this I would have a discussion how it's cruel to use a family member, if that did not work,...

Re: Manjaro set to phase out 32 bit support

Hi Schultz Manjaro uses arch so that would be arch doing that, but as far as ubuntu it sounds like in vs 18 it will happen by the sounds of it or 2023 by some notes in 2016 here is some older reads about it https://www.neowin.net/news/ubuntu-1804-lts-could-ship-without-a-32-bit-version-support-dropp...

If possible only allow 3 sites he can access 1: job bank site 2: apartment rentals 3: freeloaders and how to deal with them Although I agree with richy there about love sometimes you have to deal a hard hand to move someone's butt. Re: What is a career down the linux path like?

I'm more into the game/app development myself so it's not what your looking for, but you did mention getting certified. Just in case you didn't know it, https://www.edx.org/ has a ton of courses for free and offer to get certified for a cheap price, including python and linux courses plus a ton more...

Re: Why upgrade instead of clean install?

I prefer clean installs also, but mine usually takes 2 days or more to get it back to normal, saving the home folder plus other stuff and putting it back in usually takes 10 to 16 hours with an external for me, never mind the other stuff. In this case I opt for a rolling release for myself, it is ju...

Re: Making a Html MDM theme

ya I make games so I use the framework and make the odd mdm theme when I have spare time with it. If you just want a simpler way you can snag one of my earlier themes and just swap out the artwork for your own and change the theme file to your own (make sure you change the name of the folder and th...

Thanks for posting this and hope your well. I had a minor heart attack a few years back, mind you since I suffer from insomnia big time I have to admit it was the best sleep of my life, that part was great and very glad it wasn't a permanent sleep, they kept me in for a couple of days and ran test a...

Re: Making a Html MDM theme

I'm the dude that created a lot of them in the beginning. I wrote a tutorial and made a template. I found using phasers framework worked best It's a html5 gaming framework and it just works great for mdm themes with canvas. I also use the phaser editor to create them (which uses eclipse forked for t...

Re: Is Linux the Little Engine That Couldn't?

so now your android device will work, DONE
the VR is an idea you think would work, even though your comparing a phone to a desktop.
throwing out ideas is like someone running out of gas then saying, "know what would be a great idea? some gas, go get it for me".

Wish OP has used "a hot girl next door" paradigm in his post, for then hot girls would be all over me asking for consideration which would be appeal to me more than old farts(or young) pulling my leg. I'll try to be more absent. I'm an old fart and my gas is deadly  My mom has linux mi...

Supposedly they been targeting linux users for years, just like they target everything else, we had discussions about this before on the forum but the new maleware part is intertesing, will have to keep an eye out.
Thanks for the tidbit.
